一、自我介绍(self-introduce)
Good morning. I am glad to be here for this interview. First let me introduce myself. My name is Zhulantian, 25. I come from Lianyungang, the city of Jiangsu Province. I graduated from the Changshu institute of technology in June, 2012.In the past two years I have been preparing for the postgraduate examination while I have been working in Bosideng group and I was a data analyst. Now all my hard work has got a result since I have a chance to be interview by you.
I am open-minded, quick in thought and very fond of economics. In my spare time, I have broad interests like many other youngers. I like reading books, especially those about economics. In particular, during my college years, most of the books I've read are economic class. I am a snooker fan; my favorite is O'Sullivan, while Ding Junhui is also great in our country.
I always believe that one will easily lag behind unless he keeps on learning .Of course, if I am given a chance to study Industrial Economics in this famous University, I will not live up to the teachers for their hard work.

二、面试家常题
1.考研原因 (reasons for my choice)
There are several reasons.
I have been deeply impressed by the academic atmosphere when I saw the book about the introduction of famous university. In my opinion, as one of the most famous university in our country, it provides people with enough room to get further enrichment. This is the first reason.
The second one is I am long for doing research in Economy throughout my life. I suppose this is the most important factor in my decision.
Thirdly, I learnt a lot from my job during the past two years. However, I think further study is still urgent for me to realize self-value. Life is precious. It is necessary to seize any chance for self-development, especially in this competitive modern world.
In a word, I am looking forward to making a solid foundation for future profession after three years study here.

2.研究生期间你的计划 (plans in the postgraduate study)
First, I hope I can form systematic view of Economics. As a graduate student, my express wish is to get a complete comprehension of the formation and development. If possible, I will go on with my study for doctorate degree.
Second, in the graduate student stage, I will continue to learn economics under the guidance of my teacher, to improve my ability to practice and application in the future on the economic road.
In a word, I am looking forward to making a solid foundation for future profession after three years study here.

3.介绍你的家乡(about hometown)
I'm from Lianyungang City; the city is located in the eastern coast of China and located in the northeast of Jiangsu Province. Lianyungang is one the first batch of 14 coastal open cities in China. It’s one of the ten big harbors in China, and is also Chinese crystal town. The Huaguo Mountain is located here in the "Journey to the west". My hometown is beautiful environment, pleasant climate, gathering of talents and a modern coastal city. I love my hometown.

4.你的家庭(about family)
There are four members in my family----my parents, my younger brother and me. My father is a technician in a company. He isn’t at home frequently. So my hard-working mother makes most of the housework. My younger brother is a student of Northeastern University. My parents are very industrious for my family, so I also do something at home. I hope they are healthy in the future. I will work hard to make my parents spend a good life in old age.

5.你的大学(about university)
I graduated from Changshu Institute of Technology. It is located in Suzhou city. It founded in 1958 and covers an area of nearly 2000 acres. It has good ability to teaching and research and its target is to develop into a famous university. In addition, Library has a collection of about 1500000 books and about 3000000 electronic books. The university has 12 schools and 1 private college and has various types of experimental base and center. Campus has just put into use few years ago, so it has first-class hardware facilities. For example, the net is very fast in the campus. In a word, I love my university.

6.大学课程
I already know some mathematical curriculum. For example: mathematical analysis, linear algebra, probability theory, mathematical statistics and so on. I have seen some statistical courses. For example: statistics, multivariate statistical analysis, time series analysis. I've learned some courses in Economy For example: western economics, money and banking, finance and so on.

7.参加活动
I attended the literary club in the university, because I was a science and engineering students, it can improve my literature accomplishment. In addition, I also participated in the table tennis club in our university so that I can exercise my body and improve interpersonal communication. I also joined in volunteer activities and public welfare activities, such as: the station customer service staff, donation and so on. In a word, these enrich my college life.

8.评价云大
Yunnan University was founded in 1922, and is one of Chinese earliest comprehensive universities. The university has a number of colleges and research institutes. In recent years, the university has hosted several national projects and published many influential articles.
University covers an area of 4500 acres in two campuses. The campus has beautiful environment and gathering of talents, so it is the ideal place to go to school. Its goal is to build Chinese first-class and world famous high level university.

9.考研
First of all, I have been deeply impressed by the academic atmosphere. And Yunnan University is what I like.
Second. When I graduated from Changshu Institute of Technology, I feel the content I have learned is far less enough to fit for the competence of society. I think further study is still urgent for me. It is necessary to seize any chance for self-development, especially in this competitive modern world.
Last, through the study in undergraduate, let me know some knowledge of economics. I found that I am very interested in that and feel very wide application field of economics. So I want to continue in-depth study and research. Therefore I choose to go to graduate school.

1. Where do you come from?

2. What kind of landscape surrounds your hometown?
什么样的风景包围你的家乡？
My hometown is Lianyungang City, and my hometown is a seashore city. It’s so famous mountain Such as the mountain of Hua Guo, and also has the ancient Salt River. To see the golden sun, the azure sky, the outstretched ocean. This is my favorite hometown.

3. What do you do during the Spring Festival?
你做什么工作春节期间？
Most of the time, I just studied at home and watched TV, sometimes I went out with my parents to visit my relatives and talked with them about my life and study.

4. Tell me something about the customs of your hometown.
说说你的家乡风俗的东西。
We attach great importance to some traditional festivals, such as we will go to worship ancestor in the Qing Ming Festival, we should eat steamed rice dumpling in the Dragon Boat Festival and in the Mid-Autumn Festival we often have to eat the moon cake.

6. What social responsibilities should a post-graduate take?
一个什么样的社会责任应该毕业后走？
I think a post-graduate should shoulder more responsibilities than other citizens, such as forming a good scholar image for our society and working out useful research results.

7. Which kind of professor do you like best?
哪一种教授你最喜欢？
I think the best professor would be someone who is both good in personality and learning and who can guide me not only in how to do research but also in how to be an excellent people.

8. What does friendship mean to you and what kind of people do you make friend with?

Friendship means a lot to me; it’s not only a part of my life but is an important part. Friends will always encourage me when I feel upset and give me useful tips. I usually make friends with people who have the similar hobbies or characteristics with me.

11. What impressed you most when you were at university?

The experience that most impressed me was the time when I was invited to give a lecture on how to memorize English words efficiently.as I entered the classroom, I was so nervous, but after some time, I became calm and gave my lecture successfully. That was the first time I gave a lesson to a large amount of people and I learned a lot and felt a sense of accomplishment.

12. What is the best university in your opinion?
什么是你认为最好的大学？
I think every university has its own advantages. I think the best university is university in which students can improve themselves most and acquire a large amount of knowledge.

13. Do you think the subjects you are studying today are relevant to present-day society? Why？
你认为你正在学习的课程与现今社会相关吗？为什么？
Of course, I know that with the rapid development of China, more and more people of other countries become interested in Chinese and more and more Confucius Institute are being established around the world. My major caters to the need of present-day society and that’s way I choose this major.

14. What do you do for a living?
你是做什么工作的？
In the past two years I have been working in Bosideng group and I was a data analyst. I engaged in the data of relevant work about collection, sorting, analysis.

15. What are your job prospects?
你的工作前景如何？
My job prospects are very good, and my work can learn a lot of things, and it can come into contact with many people. In the future, data analysis will be a hot work, because it has entered the era of data age.

16. If you had the opportunity to change your subject, what would you do with it?
如果你有机会改变你的专业，你会怎么做呢？
Every subject has its own reason to exist, since I chose a subject, that I like the subject. If no particular reason, I will not turn subject.

17. What are your spare time interests?
业余时间你有什么爱好？
I like reading, especially economics. I read a lot of the economic magazines. Besides that, I’m also fond of exercise, Chinese chess and Snooker.

18. Where have you been traveling to? Which place interested you most?
你去过哪儿？哪个地方你最感兴趣？
I’ve travelled to Hangzhou. I like the west lake best, the lake is large and beautiful and many legends and poetry took place there .the scenery of West Lake is different in different seasons.

19. What kind of differences in the system of higher education between China and other countries?

In foreign countries, especially developed countries, they stress creativity and curiosity and encourage students to develop their own ideas. But here in china, we put less emphasis on creativity and the practice that college students perform is less.

20. What difficulties do you think you'll encounter in your studies?
你认为在你的研究中你会遇到什么困难？
Because everyone is the greatest enemy for himself, only beyond ourselves can we achieve greater progress. No matter what kind of difficulties encountered, I have to be smoothly done or easily solved.

21. Why did you choose our university?
你为什么选择我们的大学？
Because I think your university has excellent teachers and teaching resources in the major that I applied for, I believe I can learn a lot in your university during my three years of post-graduate study.

22. If there were an opportunity of studying abroad, what would you do?
如果有一个留学的机会，你会怎么办？
I think I’m always willing to go to different places to visit or study so if there were an opportunity of studying abroad, I think I’ll actively apply for it.

23. Should you study more theory or do more practice? You’re your reasons, please。
你应该学习更多的理论或做更多的练习吗？给你的理由吧。
Both. I don’t think one is more important than another; I’ll choose study theory as well as do practice. Because I need theory to guide my practice and also I need to do practice to prove the theory I applied are correct and effective.

24. What do you intend to do after you finish studying?
你打算在完成学习后做什么？
I'm going to practice the knowledge I have learned and want to contribute to the state and society.

25. How serious is unemployment among young people and what will you do if you cannot find a job after graduation?
年轻人失业有多严重和如果你毕业后找不到工作你会怎么做？
According to news reports, the condition of youth unemployment is very serious now; many of my classmates can’t find a satisfied job. If I cannot find a job　after graduation, maybe I’ll concern about starting my own business and to be self-employed.

26. How do you afford your tuition?
您如何负担得起自己的学费？
I rely on my family and my own earning for tuition.

27. Does your family support your decision on studying? What help do they offer?
你的家人支持你的学习的决定呢？他们提供哪些帮助？
Yes, of course. They support me mentally and offer me tuition help.

28．What are the current problems of college education? How to resolve them?
当前大学教育的问题是什么？如何解决？
The main problems are improper curriculum designing and the lack of teaching facilities. I think our government should grant more money to buy advanced teaching facilities and universities should adjust their curriculum to meet the need of society.
