I’ll never forget how David and 1 became friends. He turned what might be a bad day into a great one.
It all happened at our sports meet. I signed up for（报名参加) two events—the four-hundred-yard race and a relay(接力赛). Everyone on my relay team was a great runner, and we had high hopes of win until the week before the sports meet. Our teammate Ken hurt his knee and had to drop out of the relay. Internet Addiction
Helen’s first class starts at eight o’clock in the morning and it is 1:30 a. m now. The only sound in Helen’s small room is the clicking of a computer keyboard. Her mother doesn’t know what to do. Every day, it’s the same.

The difference in the ways of thinking and perception（看法）in the people of two different generations is usually called the generation gap. It leads to differences and sometimes, conflicts（冲突）between them.
We can generally see the generation gap between parents and their children. It is not only because of the gap in age, but also because of the way of thinking of their parents. Parents do not understand the changing values and thinking patterns模式)of the world today. This creates a communication gap between these two generations.
The generation gap between parents and children is mostly because of parents themselves. They do not talk openly to their children and do not take part in solving their problems. This behavior (行为)makes parents look like authoritative(权威式的） persons, because they only tell their children what to do without understanding their children’s problems. Some parents are so busy with their work that they don’t spend quality（质量)time with their family. It makes them completely have no idea of how their children are growing. This finally creates a gap between them.
Changes in technology have led to the generation gap today. Children spend lots of their time with their digital devices（电子设备) and are busy with social media. The Internet provides solutions to most of the worldly problems. So children turn to the Internet for help. It again reduces（减少) the communication and leads to a generation gap between them.
The generation gap has greatly increased these days because the time is changing fast and people find it difficult to deal with this change. To overcome this problem, parents should show interests in all matters of their children and deal with them positively. Giving time to the children, having open communication, and allowing the children to feel free and not in any kind of pressure(压力)will reduce the generation gap.
