一、 教学目标： 
1. 预习导航：
1) Master the words：weak ,god, remind, bit,a little bit , silly, instead of  
2） 使学生学会用一般过去时表达故事，并运用相关连词（when, because,as soon as ,so...that,unless,although）引导的状语从句来连接。
3）能提出自己对故事人物的看法。
4 学习愚公，要学习他“主动挖山”的精神。在我们生活工作中存在着很多的“山”。在这些山的面前我们应该采取怎样的态度对待它？是通过“搬家”来避开它或找领导请求帮助；还是像愚公一样明知困难却迎难而上，凭借自己的力量勇敢的克服困难。愚公不畏艰险，不怕困难，勇敢面对的精神，正是值得我们所学习的。
二、教学重难点
1. 学习重点：
1) 本课时中出现的生词：remind, bit, silly, instead of； 
2) 初步掌握由when, because,as soon as,so...that,unless,although等引导的状语从句。
3）学会表达故事中的人物或情节，并发表一些简单的看法或观点。

Task1 Listening 
Work on 2a:  
T: Let’s continue to listen to the story.  
1. Look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do. When you listen to the story, please number the pictures. 
2. Play the recording for the students to listen and number the pictures. 
3. Play the recording again to check the answers. 
Task2 Work on 2b: 
1. Let students read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the students . Make sure they know what to do.  
2. Play the recording for the students to circle the correct words in the brackets. 
1) A man saw Yu Gong and his (children / family) when they were working on moving the mountains.
2) He told Yu Gong he could never do it because he was old and (poor / weak).
3) As soon as the man finished (talking /speaking), Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.
4) Finally, a god was so moved by Yu Gong that he sent (two / three) gods to take the mountains away.
5) This story reminds us that you can never (know / see) what’s possible unless you try to make it happen.

4. What happened ? Why did that happen ?（经过）
5. What is the end of the story ?（结果）
故事开头的集中描述：Once upon a time,long long ago, one day…
故事结尾：概况主要内容，阐述道理，感受，评价
注意故事名，书名的书写规范
书名，故事名，语言名等，单词首字母要大写；
‚名称中介词，虚词，冠词无需大写
试着阅读以下一则寓言，找出故事的若干因素
Long long ago,there was a boy who lived in China .His name was Ma Liang .He loved to draw,but he didn't have a brush .He was too poor to buy one .He often used sticks to draw pictures on the ground .He said to himself ,If I have a brush ,I don't need to draw on the ground with brush .
One day,when Ma Liang was asleep,he had a dream.In his dream,he met an old man .The old man give him a magic brush.The old man said to him,“I give you a brush.You can use it to help the poor in your village .”

The next morning,when he woke,he found a real brush in his hands .Ma Liang felt very excited.He went to the village and decided to help the villagers.Some villagers said ,“There has been a drought (干旱)and our crops (庄稼)are dying.” Ma Liang took out his magic brush and drew some rain .Then it began to rain.The villagers said thanks to Ma Liang .

Task4 Role-play 
1. Read the conversations and Let students read after the tape.  
2.Answer some questions and fill the blanks.
2. Ask students to role-play the conversation in groups. 
Homework: 
1. Recite the conversation in 2d after school. 
2. Tell the story Yu Gong Moves a Mountain in English to your classmates ..
