Step 1 Greetings and leading-in
Greet the whole class as usual.
Guessing and expressing with an interesting question like this:
T : What color do I like? You can guess.
S1: You like pink.
T: You are very clever. Look at my clothes. I like pink best. I can say: My favorite color is pink. What’s your favorite color?
S2: My favorite color is purple.
T: What about you? What’s your favorite color?
S3: My favorite color is blue.
T: What’s your favorite sport, basketball, soccer or volleyball?
S4: My favorite sport is soccer.
T: How about you?
S5: My favorite sport is ping-pong.
T: So, what’s your favorite subject?
And then show the new unit: my favorite subject is science.
　　Purpose :通过一个有趣的问题引起学生的兴趣，同时可以帮助学生复习过去学过的句型：My favorite color is …很自然地引出今天的学习课题。
Step 2 Show the teaching aims.
Ask students to read together.
Step 3 Presentation
Task1】Present the subjects
a. T: What subjects do we have at school? Let’s review them.
And then show lots of pictures and lead students to say out the subjects.
Show the subjects tree, let students recite them for one minute and check them.
b. Play a game — memory challenge. Ask students say out the subjects and the Chinese meanings.
c. Do Section A 1a. Match the pictures with the words.
Purpose:让学生在学习本课知识前先感受本课新单词，通过反复教读让学生掌握每个单词的发音，引起学生学习的兴趣，再以一个“记忆大挑战”的活动，让学生们掌握单词的中文意思。学生“动口，动手，动脑”三管齐下，巩固单词，已达到本课的教学目标。
【Task2】Listening
a. Listen carefully and circle the subjects that you hear in 1a. Check the answers by choosing some students.
b. Play the recorder. Ask students to listen to 2a, 2b one by one.
c. Check the answers like this:
T: I like P.E. because it’s fun. What else?
S1: I like music because it’s relaxing.
T: Great!
S2: I don’t like geography because it’s difficult.
T: Well done. What’s your favorite subject?
【Task3】Pairwork
Lead students to say out the target language, “What’s your favorite subject?” “My favorite subject is...” “Why do you like it?” “Because it’s ...”
Ask students to work in pairs like this and then show their work.
【Task4】Groupwork
Show the picture and ask “Who is he?”
Ss: He is Zhou Jielun.
T: What’s his favorite subject?
Ss: His favorite subject is music.
T: Why does he like it?
Ss: Because it’s relaxing.
Ask students to work in groups of three like this.
Choose some groups to perform.
Purpose: 通过编对话，对话表演练习，引导学生掌握本课重难点句型。在玩中学，在学中玩，寓教于乐。
【Task5】 Do a survey.
a. Ask students to do a survey about themselves and their friends by oral expressions.
b. Choose four to five students to express.
【Task 6】Writing.
Ask students to introduce themselves including: name, age birthday, favorite color/sport/subject and so on.
Ask a few students to show their passage.
Purpose: 通过做调查和写作，加深学生们对于单词及句型的印象。

Choose the correct answers and check them.

① Review the words.
②Do a survey about other students’ favorite subjects , food, sports…
