The lesson plan Im going to talk about is from Book I Unit 9 What does he look like ?the first period. Ill prepare to
2、 say the lesson from six parts. PART 1.STATUS AND FUNCTION This is an important lesson in Book One. From this lesson, it starts asking the Ss to grasp contents of each Sample. To start listing “Word Bank” and tell the Ss to remember the new words. To start asking the Ss to write the English sentence
3、s well. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.PART 2 .ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS The Ss has learned English more than 5 months so far. They can understand some words and some simple sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.PART 3 . TEACHING AIM
4、S AND DEMANDSIt includes 3 objects.1.Knowledge objects Learn to describe people .The main content of this lesson are the sentences : What does he/she look like ? the answers and some description words. 2 .Ability objectsStudents can use the new words and language to describe peoples looks. 3. Emotio
5、n objects Students learn to judge people and know the beauty of mind is the most important.Part 4.TEACHING KEY AND DIFFICULT POINTS New words and the languages goals are important.The difference between is and has is not easy.Part5.TEACHING METHODS1. Communicative teaching method 2. Task-based teach
6、ing method That is to say, Ill let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key words and structure of the dialogue. Ill give the Ss some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: talking, acting out guessing games, watching CAI, writing practice.Part 6.TEACHING STEPSThere are eight steps in th
7、e class.Step I warm-up (1-2minutes)Step II presentation (17 minutes)This course is very important. Ill mainly talk about this step. Ill use CAI to present the new words and target languages. Show some famous stars photos to teach the new description words such as long short straight curly tall thin
8、and so on . Here are the pictures: Yao Ming . He is tall . He has short hair . Here Ill introduce the new language : What does he look like ? He is _ . He has _ .And then let students ask and answer with the pictures. Ill write the key points on the Bb while talking. After it, Ill let them read the
9、words and sentences on the Bb. Make sure they can read them well. Purpose of my designing: To present by CAI is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings of the new words.The change of pictures may arise students interests . .Step III Pair work (6 minutes) In this part point out the sam
10、ple conversation and ask students to make a new conversation imitate it . Purpose of my designing: “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the Ss ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.Step IV Game (5 minutes)Describe someone in the picture.
11、 Ask your classmates to guess who he/she is then read the short article together. Purpose of my designing game can arouse the Ss interest in English learning. If the Ss can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot.Step V Writing (13 minutes)Write a short article to describe a friend . Purpose
12、of my designing: To check the knowledge Ss have learned in this lesson.Step VI Summary (1minute)Review what we have learned today.
