C. Teaching procedures:
Step1 New words.
T: Hello, everyone! Look! What’s this?
Ss: it’s a picture.
T: Right, who is the girl in the picture?
Ss: it’s you.
T: Yes, it’s me. You know me. Please look at this, do you know them?
Ss: No, we don’t.
T: They are my family members. Today I want to introduce my family members to you. Please look at this man? Is he old?
Ss: yes.
T: He is my“grandfather”,please read after me, G-R-A-N-D-F-A-T-H-E-R, grandfather.
Teach the other words in the same way.
Read the new words in a small blackboard with its pronuciations
Step 2. Practice the new words.
T: Now, open your book to page13. Do 1a; you can see a picture of Dave’s family and some new words we have learned, find these people in the picture. Match the words with the people in the picture.
Then check the answers.
Step3: Drills.
1.Listening.
T: A boy is talking about his family. Please number the pictures in the right order.
Then check the answers.
2. Teach the Dmonstratives.
Explain the basic meaning of Demonstratives and make examples;
This is my sister.
These are my sisters.
That is my father, that is my mother.
Those are your sisters
Step 4 Pair works.
Now, take out your picture, please talk about your family photo with your partner. Use “this is”,“that is”,“these are”and “those are”. Teacher gives a model:
A— Hello!
B— Hello!
A— What’s this?
B— This is a photo of my family.
A— Who is this?
B— This is my grandfather,
A— Who is that?
B— That is my grandmother, and this is my father, this is my mother. And that is my sister.
Ss working together make new dialogue; teacher worked as assistance, and then let them perform before all of class.
Step5 Summary
Today we learned some new words, such as grandfather, grandmother and so on, also we learned four Demonstratives: this, that, these, those, and some useful structures.
Step6 Homework.
1. Write and recite new words.
2. Finish exercising book page 21.
