Lesson type : Listening and speaking
Part 1 Teaching aims.
1. Knowledge aims:
1) Students can learn new words and structures from the dialogue.
2) Students can understand Adverbs of frequency (always, usually, often, sometimes , never )
2. Ability aims:
1) To practice listening ability by finding out key words .
2) To describe birthday parties.
3. Emotion aims :
Students should love their parents because they give them lives.
Part 2 The important and difficult points .
1. Important point:
Students can learn some listening skills while listening.
2. Difficult point:
1) How to help students to improve their listening skills.
2) Enable the students to talk about their birthday parties with the Adverbs of frequency.
Part 3 Teaching methods
Methods: Communicative Approach, Top-down model, “Task-based” Language Teaching, Classified teaching method
Time : 40 minutes
Aid: A computer, multi-media and a blackboard
Part 4 Teaching procedures
Step 1 . Warming up
1) Teacher show a short video to the students, ask the students try their best to fill in the blank after they listening to the songs Today is my day.
2) Listen to the song Today is my day again, fill in another two words.
【Aims: This is to activate the interest in the topic of birthday part, and stimulate students background knowledge about it. 】
Step 2. Brain storm
Students think about some words relating to birthday and learn some new words.
【Aims: This is to learn new words in this unit and get ready for the rest steps, it’s also help the teacher to find out the students’ level and help teaching next. 】
Step 3. Presentation: —Show some pictures and talk about my birthday.
1. In this part I will show some pictures of my birthday, then get the students to understand the Adverbs of frequency.
2. Get the students try to repeat the sentences that I told them with the Adverbs of frequency.
【Aims: This step is to lead the students to understand the Adverbs of frequency . 】

Step 4. Oral practice— Talk about your birthday
Pairs work, tell others what do you usually do on your birthday.
【Aims: This step is to lead the students to speak with the Adverbs of frequency . 】
Step 5. Listening
Task 1 : Listen to the tape, then answer two questions
Task 2: Listen again and check the sentences.
【Aims: This listening task is to teach the students some listening skills, before they listen they should learn to predict, and when they listen they should catch the key words . 】
Step 6 . Reading
Task 1 : Read after the tape.

Task 2 : Two minutes to read with your partners.
Task 3 : Read loudly to show your talent
Task 4 : Memory cloze.
【Aims: These tasks can cultivate the students’ ability of speaking and get the main idea of the dialogue, prepare for the next step . 】
Step 7 . Group work—Do a survey and write a report
Task 1 : Group work, ask and answer what do you usually / never do on holiday.
Task 2 : According to your survey, write a report.
【Aims: Improve the students’ speaking ability, and it can help the students to use the Adverbs of frequency easily. 】
