6、chgroupsinNUST.In1998IassumedandfulfilledasewageanalysisdisposeprojectforNanjingsewagetreatmentplant.Thiswasmyfirstpracticetoconvertalaboratoryideatoacommercialproduct. In1999IjoinedthedistinguishedProfessorYu-GengXisresearchgroupaimingatNetworkflowproblemsolvingandHeuristicalgorithmresearch.SoonIw
7、asengagedintheFuDanGeneDatabaseDesign.Mydutywastopickuptheusefulinformationamongdifferentkindsofgenematchingformat.ThroughthecomparisonandanalysisformanyheuristicalgorithmsIintroducedanimprovedevolutionaryalgorithm--Multi-populationGeneticAlgorithm.Bydividingawholepopulationintoseveralsub-population
8、sthisimprovedalgorithmcaneffectivelypreventGAfromlocalconvergenceandpromotevariousevolutionaryorientations.ItprovedmoreefficientlythanSGAinexperimentstoo.InthesecondsemesterIjoinedtheworkshop-schedulingresearchinShanghaiHeavyDutyTyreplant.Theschedulingwasdesignedfortherubber-makingprocessthatcovered
9、notonlydiscretebutalsocontinuouscircumstances.TomakeabalancepointbetweenoptimizationqualityandtimecostIproposedaDynamiclayeredSchedulingmethodbasedonhybridPetriNets.Thepracticalapplicationshowedthattheaveragemakespanwasshortenedbyalargescale.Ialsopublicizedtwopapersincorejournalswiththisidea.Recentl
10、yIamdoingresearchintheCompositePredictoftheElectricalPowersystemassistedwiththetechnologyofDataMiningforBaoSteel.ItrytocombinetheDecisionTreewithRecedingOptimizationtoprovideanewsolutionfortheCompositePredictiveProblem.Thisprojectisnowunderconstruction. BesidesInJuly2000Igottheopportunitytogivealec
11、tureinEnglishinAsiaControlConference(ASCC)whichisoneofthetop-levelconferencesamongtheworldintheareaofcontrolandautomation.InmysenioryearImetProf.Xiao-SongLinavisitingprofessorofmathematicsfromUniversityofCalifornia-RiversideIlearnedgraphtheoryfromhimformynetworkresearch.Theseexperiencesallrapidlyexp
12、andedmyknowledgeofEnglishandtheunderstandingofwesternculture. Ihopetostudyindepth InretrospectIfindmyselfstandingonasolidbasisinboththeoryandexperiencewhichhaspreparedmeforthePh.D.program.Myfutureresearchinterestsinclude:NetworkSchedulingProblemHeuristicAlgorithmresearch(especiallyinGAandNeuralnetwork)SupplychainnetworkresearchHybridsystemperformanceanalysiswithPetrinetsandDataMining.
