Seba Stephens is only 11 years old, but he's a very talented musician. He plays the drums, bass, guitar, and piano.
Seba grew up with music all around. Before he turned three, his parents asked him what he wanted for his birthday. "Drums!" he answered. His parents weren't sure, but after seeing him play the drums at a local music store, they decided he was serious. They bought him a junior drum kit (成套的架子鼓). "He didn't stop playing—ever, " says his dad.
But two months later, Seba grew upset. He couldn't make the sounds he wanted with his jun- ior drum kit. His parents bought him a professional drum kit and signed him up for lessons. In just a few months, his drum teacher reported that Seba was learning extremely quickly and needed a higher level of training. He was still four.
Seba started a band in kindergarten. In the first grade, he began earning money by playing music.
In 2020, Seba joined a summer music program at Berklee College of Music (伯克利音乐学 院)as an 8-year-old boy. He studied bass in an online program. To keep up, he had to practice up to 36 hours a week.
After the busy summer, Seba made a decision to be home-schooled(to be educated at home instead of being sent to school)by his parents so that he could keep going to Berklee during the school year. He did schoolwork in the mornings. In the afternoons he worked on music. And at night he usually worked on music some more.
In May, 2021, Seba became the youngest person ever to receive a professional certificate(证 书)from Berklee. The certificate is equal to about four college-level classes.
When he's old enough, Seba hopes to go to college at Berklee. For now, he's still practicing and playing.

The famous scientist and thinker, Charles Darwin, was born on February 12, 1809. His family lived not far from the River Severn, England.
Charles Darwin’s father was a well-known doctor. He hoped that Charles would also become a doctor. As a boy, Charles liked to go for walks in the fields and forests. He watched nature and compared what he saw with everything he had read in science books. He also liked collecting very much. He collected many things: eggs, stones, and leaves. His father did not like this, as Charles was not studying very well at school.
When he was sixteen years old, he was sent to Edinburgh University to study in order to become a doctor. But he was interested in the history of nature.
Then he studied at Cambridge University until 1831.
Some time later, he heard that the ship Beagle was going on a trip to South America and wanted a scientist. His professor advised him to go. So when the ship left England in December 1831, Darwin was on it. The research lasted almost five years. The Beagle studied the waters in the sea near South America. It also visited New Zealand, Australia and islands in the Pacific. Darwin saw many new plants and animals. He also collected all kinds of plants.
When he returned home, Darwin was warmly greeted by his families and many friends.
In 1842, Darwin went to live in Kent, where he continued his studies of the changes in nature. By 1859, Darwin had finished his famous book—The Origin of Species. It made a great hit in the world of science. He was opposed (反对)by the church and even by some scientists. But later, more and more scientists agreed with him.
Darwin continued his studies in science until he died in 1882.

As the world is trying hard to fight COVID- 19, how do we protect ourselves from the virus? The most important thing is to keep in good health. So do you have good hygiene (卫生)habits? As far as we know, people's health is closely connected with their hygiene habits in their everyday life. Under the influence of COVID- 19, health experts are reminding people to wash their hands properly.
Although some may fail to notice this daily habit, hand washing actually has a long history. More than 2, 500 hundred years ago, Chinese people had to wash their hands before taking part in ceremonies (仪式)and follow some strict rules.
In the 19th century, doctors found it helpful for their patients to wash hands. The habit quickly became common among doctors and nurses, and later the public.
Also, more attention should be paid to a healthy dining habit. In the West, it is more culturally proper to eat your own meals. However, people in the East are exactly the opposite. For them, eating a meal alone is very impolite during social meetings. Instead of eating alone, they like eating common dishes. This is a common way to show their friendliness and warmth. Some even share their utensils (餐具), which is risky. According to the WHO, saliva(唾液) is quite easy to spread illnesses through air.
Developing good hygiene habits can help people stay healthy. So why not start by washing your hands often and eating alone?
