Our Poem Group was set up last summer with the purpose of cultivating the students’ interest in poems like Tang Poems and Song Poems. Involving themselves in a variety of activities, the members can develop their ability of reading and appreciating ancient poems. And thus, they can learn to create their own poems as well. That night she felt so guilty that she had a sleepless night for the first time in her life.
Eventually, she knew what she should do. The next morning, she went to Ms. Cormack’s office and handed her the spelling paper and the dictionary. She told her teacher what had happened. For a moment, Ms. Cormack stood there, quietly reading the label on the dictionary. Then she picked up her pen and replaced the word “perfect” with “honest” before returning the dictionary to Kate.

M: Yeah. First, I cut up some green tea leaves into very small pieces. Then I mix that with regular black pepper and leave it in the fridge for a month. After that, it tastes amazing!
W: What do you do with it?
M: I usually use it for meat and fish. But if you put a little on your eggs in the morning, it’s the best thing ever!
W: It sounds like a nice hobby, if you have the time. I think the regular pepper is just fine.

According to people inside the movie industry, this year’s remake of The Lion King becomes “the biggest movie event of the decade”. Most of us — no matter how old we are — have seen or heard of the 1994 original cartoon movie. Audiences fell in love with the adorable characters, memorable music, and moving story. Just three years later, it became an award-winning musical play. Then the brilliant Jon Favreau came into the picture. First, he had amazing success with his re-imagining of the cartoon book Iron Man. Later, he was asked to do the same with The Jungle Book, another famous Disney cartoon. In this movie, he worked with the Moving Picture Company to create something that hadn’t been done before. They created moving and talking animals inside a realistic and detailed environment without leaving the studio. The final product was so well-received that Disney immediately asked him to remake The Lion King. The new version, which came out in July 2019, uses all of the same technology to create a realistic African environment. But most importantly, early reviews say it remains true to the original. It features all the same music, follows the same story, and even stars one of the original voice-actors. However, not everyone gave positive reviews. Some reviewers said they expected a little more creativity instead of an exact copy of the 1994 version. Well, I guess you can’t please everyone. But you can bet that whatever happens, it’s going to make a lot of money.
