"Truman’s World" review
Introduction

Truman Burbank (Jim ) is the star of the most popular show in the history of television. For 10,909 days, it has been on the air, using 5000 cameras to show every moment in every day of the life of one man. The public loves it -- there are Truman addicts who go to sleep with the TV on and who have sets installed in the bathroom so they don't miss anything when they're taking a bath. Every individual in "The Truman Show" is an actor with one important exception: the lead character himself. For, while everyone around Truman is playing a part, he is cheerfully ignorant about the truth. He thinks this is all real, and his obliviousness to the situation gives the program its core appeal -- that there's nothing counterfeit about Truman. One day, however, when a former member of the cast sneaks back onto the set with a warning for the star, Truman begins to suspect that appearances can be deceiving.

Trumanʹs life in the show can be said happy actually.Though in the show he have setbacks and unfortunate,he also have satisfied and lucky waiting for him after each setbacks and unfortunate.From a certain angle, the show director put he into a relatively pure world. Even if the world is made up of lies.When the lies were exposed,Truman went resolutely.He stept on the way to the real world ladder to become a true man.However,I want to know if he went out and found that the so-called real world was the same or even worse.whether he have powerlessness and despair or not.Especially the seconds before it is very exciting.Does he want to go back to the original world?
In this movie, Truman’s life was perfectly devised. In order to control him, Christol, the director, arranged so many plots to interfere Truman’s thinking, making him afraid of water by his father’s death, advocating the plane crash and preaching up the living environment of Seahaven. All of these made Truman feel that all these years he spent on this island were so comfort and easy, just as the world should be. However, it was his dream that changed all these beauty. Although he did not talk much about this dream of going out, he never let it go. The dream was just like a seed, taking root in his heart and flourishing into flowers. Finally one day, he wanted to go out, to go after his dream. All the things he was familiar with became his barriers.
His life is being planned,including every part of it. But each place designed are reasonable. Maybe we can compare life as a play.Truman had become an involuntary actor to show his gain and loss really in the play.However,everything must be attributed to commercial interest.Although the director developed feelings for him and soulfully call him children with tears,it can not hide the essence which the director want to use the play to earn money and fame.Therefore,the director advised him to continue to stay there and play the show.
Literature review

Most movies today run far too long, but The Truman Show is actually too short. A considerable amount of worthwhile material goes unexplored. (For example, one question that is never answered is whether Truman actually has sex with his actress-wife.) I would have liked to know something about the personal pressures faced by the actors in "The Truman Show" and more about the incredibly complex logistics of controlling and filming the entire life of one man. Narratively, the film is a little rough around the edges, as if a lot more was filmed than what shows up on-screen, but, although the flow may be off a little, it's not difficult to follow what's going on.(ibid)
Stylistically, The Truman Show uses an interesting approach, intercutting documentary- like interviews and lengthy excerpts from the program (these can be identified by the elliptical matte around the frame) with "real life" footage of the director and behind-the-scenes people. Weir isn't the first film maker to apply this technique , but he uses it to good effect, and it works well in the context of this movie. As far as overt satire and comedy go, the obvious use of product placements gets some of the biggest laughs and several of the "fear of travel" posters (designed to keep Truman from venturing outside of his created hometown of Seahaven) are hilarious.(ibid)
Own point of view
Each time I watch the film,I always feel sympathy for the director in the play.What he does is all for Truman. But he do it with the wrong way. When the theory be integrated with practice,I discover that many things in our life present a strange phenomenon.Such as study ,marry and work.We just in order to give others to look not to reveal our own value.We say it is all for ourself,our family.However,it just like parents spoil their kids.
Who admire the film brilliant and arrogant genius director he leads people to think of God, also saw the weak, tired, helpless and confusion Truman was the hypocrisy of the play again, or for life and the future with optimism when the waves in my heart to sorrow and grief, I could not bear to face - can not bear to face a real "us"!

Perhaps the director did not think he was indefensible.It seems that he is all about Truman.He created the world that ordinary people dreamed of for Truman.Besides,it saves much trouble and sorrow for him.It remind me of the life we used to track ,our narrative style and thinking path are influenced by something automatically. It could be our culture or eduction.I am not sure.
I do not understand when many people struggle joyfully, on which support their value system. So does the formation of the value system.The formation of the value system maybe come from the interest group ,such as the special political benefits and economic benefits.What is the most important I think is to follow the heart not to blind eyes by the interest. Reading, knowledge, and independent thinking is the best way to polish eyes.
One's birth and leave is lonely,so we need resonance and communication.We know the world from the birth ,growth and die,but our cognition is limited.We can not do as the god ,who can control the world in his hand.We have to meet our boundless curiosity and knowledge desire by kinds of devices.At this point,I agree with what MaiKeLuhan said that the media is the extension of the human body.Today electronic media in the context of the global popularization and rapidly expand, fully realize the MaiKeLuhan about "the global village" genius of prophecy.Watching the Truman show at the same time,we find that the film has show the desire of spying out others' secrets incisively and vividly.In the media era, we are hard to escape from the fate as Truman.Our life has something to do with the Truman show more or less.When we are all in for super girl and cheering wildly,we can see us as the audience who hold the TV in the Truman show.Under the economic interests driving, business logic become worse and worse.More and more person put theirselves at others' palm.We betray our belive to get money and frame.The Truman show is a metaphor of the modern time.It not only reveals real and false boundary , but also reminds us to get rid of the fraud era and approach our mind.

Conclusion
We prefer to believe the world is true.But when we are controlled by an unknown person who nearly means the god to you,we do feel entirely lost and lonely.Truman could not bear the truth,so he made up his mind and try to be recalcitrant.He used to afraid of the artificial sea,but he defeat the deepest funk in his heart and escaped.We often say life as play and play as life.There may be more dangerous ,sham and cheat in the life ,but all of this come from nature and society not from the people stared us all the day.We learn from Trueman that we should have a brave heart to pursuit the thing which in our inner heart instead of setting for the surface of our life! No matter what had happened,we also should greet other people and ourself good afternoon,good evening and good night every day like Truman.
