Step1、Presentation

Step2、Ask the class to discuss the questions in “Think About It”.                                 
Step3: Let the students listen to the tape carefully with the following questions：“What does Brian/Jenny/Danny say about the experiment？Are they same？What idea does Jenny have？Where will Danny sit？What will Brian do？What will Danny bring that day？Is he going to wet？”Then listen again.
Step4： Come to “Let’s do it！”
Step5：Read the dialogue and If have some time you may ask students to act it out.

Lesson 27 Danny the “Dry-or-saur”！

Step1、Listen to the passage in this lesson，and discuss “Why does everyone laugh？How does Brian do the experiment？ Is Danny wet？Why or why not？What’s the conclusions？”Then listen again.
Step2、Ask students to read the text and write out the steps of the experiment in their exercise book.
Step3、Another experiment
1）Read the experiment about Weird Mud carefully. Find out “What do you need？What do you do？What is happening？What else can you do ？”
2）Divide students into groups with three or four. Try to do it as the text says. Explain or observe the experiment when you or others do it to see what will happen？

Have students read the song aloud as a poem ，then divide them into two groups，one is girls，the other is boys. Ask girls to read a passage ，then boys another.
Step2、Play the audiotape. Have the class follow the words in their texts and sing along .
Step3、Practice
Practice singing the song until everybody sings it well.
Step4、Come to let’s do it.

Lesson 29 An Easter Egg！

Class opening
Sing the song in Lesson28.
Step1、Have the class look at the picture in this lesson. Answer these questions：“What are Danny，Jenny and Brian talking？What’s in the basket which is in Debbie’s hand？”Come to “Think about it.”
Step2、Ask some volunteers to talk about “Easter” or “Easter eggs ”
Step3、Listen to the audiotape with these questions：Where is Danny？What is he doing？What about Danny and Jenny？What will they do with that basket？Does Debbie fill the basket with eggs？How does she find them？
Step4、Read the text carefully after they listen to the audiotape. Continue answering the questions in step3.
Step4、Play the game like that or come to “Let’s do it.”

Lesson 30 Keep the Candle Burning !
Step1、We have learned some experiments，such as “The force is all around you” “Weird mud”，today let’s enter another experiment.
Step2、Presentation
1）Come to “THINK ABOUT IT！”Discuss them in groups.
2）Presentation
Look at these things. Can you name them？How do we use them to do the experiment？ Fill out the charts.
1.Put the candle in the candleholder.
2.Put the candleholder in the dish.
3.Fill the dish half full of water.
4.Light the candle.
5.Let the candle burn for two or three minutes.
6.Carefully put the jar over the candle until the top of the jar rests on the dish.
7.Look at the water in the jar. What observation can you make
Step3 Doing and explaining.
Divide students into groups with three or four. Have them explain as they do it. After doing that，what’s your conclusion？Is it interesting？What experiment would you like to do in this unit？Choose one and have a try as the PROJECT says.

Read the letter and find out the steps to do the experiment. “First…，Next….” Then ask your class “Why does the cardboard hold the water?”
Step3、Discussion
Discuss the reasons of “ the cardboard can hold the water” with your class.
Do you think science is interesting？Would you like to do another one？Have a try please. Come to “LET’S DO IT！”
