1、Product Descriptions Sleet is a product refresh for the low-end and mid-range products in the Celerra family and will be the first implementation of the CLARiiON Fleet Storage Array on the Celerra product line. Sleet is a refresh of two product groups, the NS20/NS20FC (referred to as Sleet2) and
2、NS40/NS40FC/NS40 for MPFS (referred to as Sleet4). Both Sleet2 and Sleet4 will retain the existing NS20/NS20FC and NS40/NS40FC front-ends and will replace the back-end CX3 based storage arrays with CX4 based storage arrays. In addition, Sleet4 will be enhanced to offer 1, 2 or 4 Blades and both Sl

5、 a 2U Storage Processor Enclosure with 2 SPs, a 3U Disk Array enclosure holding up to 15 FC or SATA drives and a 1U SPS Enclosure holding one or two Standby Power Supplies). Each Nautilus will be available in 3 different configurations. The base or NAS configuration will always contain a single Toma
6、hawk I/O Module with 3 FC ports per captive CX4-120 array’s storage processor (SP). One of these FC ports is dedicated to connection to the Back End DAE drive trays while the remaining two FC ports are for Front End connectivity to 1 or 2 NAS head Blades. The second configuration is a ‘FC’ configur
7、ation and consists of two Tomahawk I/O Modules per array SP, one configured as above, the other with 4 available FC ports per SP for use with up to four non-Celerra hosts (or more via SAN) to facilitate “All in One” IP+FC storage. The FC Option Enabled configuration will require Navisphere to be use
8、d for creating RAID Groups/LUNs for Celerra and non-Celerra usage. The third configuration is an ‘iSCSI’ SP I/O configuration consisting of one Tomahawk I/O Module, configured as per the ‘NAS’ offering, and two Harpoon 2 port iSCSI I/O Modules. Each Harpoon I/O Module contains two 10/100/1000 base-
9、T Cu iSCSI ports. A total of three I/O Modules can be present per SP in a Sleet2 product, or six I/O Modules in total. 12、 2 SPs , a 3U Disk Array enclosure holding up to 15 FC drives and a 1U SPS Enclosure holding two Standby Power Supplies). Each Sleet4 Trident will be available in three different configurations. The base or NAS configuration will always contain two Tomahawk I/O Modules per SP, each with 4 FC ports.

This enables use with up to four non-Celerra hosts per SP (or more via SAN) to facilitate “All in One” IP+FC storage. The FC Option Enabled configuration w

19、ymmetrix and Celerra. All 3 product families will use the same CPU configuration with the only difference in memory size. By leveraging components across all the product families, the result should be a savings in terms of inventory, a reduction in unique spares, and additional product flexibility
20、 during product transition periods by offering different avenues to direct excess inventories. Foxglove will make use of the I/O flexibility offered by using SLICs (Small I/O cards) which allow customers to choose their connectivity options from a variety of offerings that will meet their partic
21、ular application and configuration needs. External I/O options provided via SLICs come in a variety of flavors. Each Foxglove xblade will support 4 SLICs with space for an additional 2 SLICs by using the Tornado I/O Module Carrier this allows 2 more SLICs in the I/O Annex slot, which will be con
22、figured as part of the base chassis offering. The following SLICs are supported and available at GA: 4 x 4 Gb/s FC ports (Tomahawk) 4 x 10/100/1000 BaseT copper ports (Thunder Child) 2 x 10/100/1000 BaseT plus 2 x GBe optical ports (Thunder Bolt) 1 x 10 GBe port (Firestorm). Two model fam
