My father is a man of devotion. Every morning he gets up the earliest to make breakfast for us. In the evening, he is always the latest to come back home. At weekends, he always takes us to go outing in his car. He is a man of few words, but he often says to me “A little learning is a dangerous thing”. I will always remember these words.

    My mother often says to us, “work while you work, play while you play. If you did not work, you will become lazy and of no use to the society. ” What a good piece of advice it is! We must worth it well and always keep it in our minds.
3) My Favorite Grandparents
  My grandparents are very special to me. They have worked hard all their lives and sacrificed a lot for my family. Not only that, but they are also special friends to me. They are easier to talk to than my parents and they are very kind to me. For example, my grandmother makes me delicious food to eat and my grandfather often takes me to go fishing.    
In addition, they are the leaders of my family. They are full of wisdom and know the stories of our ancestors. They are the ones that hold our family together. As a result, I owe them a great deal, but I don't know how to repay them. All I can do is cherish them and never take them for granted.

We are common in many ways, we often write emails to exchange our views on life, work and family. We like each other and enjoy staying together.

Liu Kai is my best classmate. He is a good student and always ready to help others. One day on his way to school, he saw a little girl crossing the road when a car nearly hit her. Just then Liu Kai rushed up to her and caught her by the arm. The little girl was saved. She told him where she lived, and he took her home. When Liu Kai hurried into the classroom, the teacher had already begun lesson. He told the teacher why he was late. He was then praised for what he had done.
3、My Best Friend and His Wife
Zhang Dong is my best friend. He is a 37-year-old handsome man. He is a math teacher in a primary school. His school is far away from his home, so he usually drives to work. He got married on Jan 1st . There are three people in his family. His wife is a doctor in a big hospital and his daughter is a nine-year-old pupil. They live on the tenth floor of a tower building. In their spare time, they like reading books, watching TV, playing table-tennis and so on. They love each other.
4、1) My Teacher in High School
Our English teacher, Mr. Wang, is a strongly built thirty-year-old man, who is often simply dressed. He has been teaching us English ever since he graduated from the English Department, Beijing Normal University in 1993. He devotes all his time and energy to teaching, often working late into the night preparing his lessons. He is capable of making his lessons lively and interesting, and all of us like his lessons. He is very strict with us but he shows us great concern. He offers us help whenever we need it. We all consider him not only as our good teacher but also as our close friend. We all respect and love him.
2) My English Teacher
Mr. Liu is our English teacher. He graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University. His English is very good. Mr. Liu is middle-aged and handsome. At class, he is good at asking us to do pair work, group work and other activities. He always encourages us to speak up and tells us “Don’t be shy, let’s try.” After a semester, almost all the learners in our class are interested in English although they don’t like English at the start. With Mr. Liu’s help, many learners are making fast progress in their English learning. Mr. Liu is the best teacher in my mind.

5、The Man I Love Most
There are many people who are intimate to me, but the most important one of them for my life is my father, the man I love indeed deeply.
 My father , the greatest man whom I regard as in the world , not only brought me up , but also teach me how to conduct as a human being . I remember that he once got me to hospital when I was ill many times regardless of sun or heavy rain. And the sentence he once said “To be the greatest, and the least ego-pushing” will be in my memory forever as a motto to point my life’s direction.

6、My Favorite Season
1) There are four seasons in a year. Which is my favorite one? Of course winter! Why? Let me tell you.
Winter is the season of festivals. The New Year's Day, Christmas Day and the most important festival in a year for Chinese: Spring Festival is also in winter! All the family members are back home that time. I like that!
And sometimes there may be a snow, I like playing after a snow! The world often becomes white; I can make snowmen with my friend, that’s wonderful!

8、My Favorite Piece of Music
I want to tell you about my favourite piece of music. It’s Beethoven’s “For Elise”. I first heard it at the concert of the very famous orchestra in Kazan and liked it from the very beginning. Had it been possible to turn back time I should have done so. It is very hard for me to describe the feeling that I’ve got, the first impression was excellent. The violins played very softly and sadly and the piano would join in, scattering silver showers of notes or perhaps wandering up and down a ladder of quiet chords, and then I felt myself very quiet and happy and sad at the same time.

Though there're so many forms, I like mountaineering most. Because on the one hand, it requires walk for a long time, it's good chance to test my patience and force myself to do excise. On the other hand, I can have a good view on the way. Besides, mountaineering always makes up of several persons and I can have a good chance to chat with others. In a modern city, there are many means of transportation, such as subway, taxi, bus and so on. But my favorite means of transportation is by bike. First, riding a bike is good for keeping healthy. I spend one hour riding a bike to my office on my working day, and I think it is a good form of physical exercise. Secondly, it is money-saving. Recently, the private car drivers always complain the price of gas is higher and higher, but if you ride a bike, it will cost you nothing. Thirdly, it is beneficial for protecting the environment, so it is a “green” form of transportation. Therefore, although it has some disadvantages, I like riding a bike best.
11、Why I Study English
To learn a foreign language is very useful in this advanced society. English has become a language so popular that so great numbers of people all over the world are learning it as a second language. I am also trying my best to learn it well. Every morning, I get up early, sit at the desk, take out the New Concept English and read some funny stories. I do this as my routine work. I have persisted in doing this for half a year and I find it very helpful. Now I have learned many English words, some grammar, and can write some simple passages. But I still can’t speak except some very simple sentence such as “Good morning”,” hello”, etc. I should practice my oral English. I wish one day I can speak English very fluently.

Some people think that if we want to learn English well we must learn English grammar well first of all. Others believe we can't learn English well unless we keep in mind as many English words and phrases as possible.
In my opinion，grammar rules，new words and phrases are very important， but they are not enough. The best way to learn English well，I think， is to learn and use English all the time. Don't be afraid of being laughed at. We'd better do a lot of listening，speaking，reading and writing. If you can form the habit of thinking and writing in English all day，you are sure to grasp the spirit of English and will be able to read works in English within a short period of time.
13、How to Keep Healthy
Nowadays, more and more people know the importance of keeping healthy. Without a healthy body, we can do nothing. For me, there are three main ways to keep healthy. First, it is necessary to keep a balanced diet, which is the basis of good health. It is better for us to have more fruit and vegetables everyday. Secondly, it is important to take regular exercises, such as swimming, jogging and so on. Last but not least, it is essential to keep in a good mood. Relaxation and entertainment are ways to renew our spirits and release our stress. When we make healthy habits a part of our everyday life, we are bound to keep healthy. Thirdly, it is essential to stay in a good mood. If people follow these ways of keeping fit, they’ll greatly improve their health.

14、The Importance of Health
Health is far more important than wealth. Good health enables us to enjoy our life and achieve what we hope for in our career. On the contrary poor health leads to nothing.
How can we keep healthy Here is some advice. Firstly, it is very important for us to take more fruits and vegetables because they provide vitamins, and we have to keep a balanced diet. Secondly, we'd better exercise every day to make our bodies strong. Besides, we have to avoid too much work pressure. Finally, we have to get rid of those bad habits that damage our health, such as drinking and smoking.
In conclusion, if we stick to the advice given above, we will lead a healthy life.
15、Health and Eating Habit
Eating habit is closely related to health. In order to keep fit, we should pay more attention to our eating habits. My tips on good eating habits are as follows:
First, don’t eat too much or too little for each meal. Eating too much will cause overweight and eating too little is bad for health too. Second, don’t eat between meals. Sometimes we like eating a little before the mealtime; as a result, we lose our appetite for lunch or dinner. Third, eat more vegetables and fruits every day.
As the saying goes,” An apple a day makes the doctor away.” In my opinion, a good eating habit leads to a healthy life.
16、My Interests
I have a wide range of interests and enjoy doing many things in my free time. I am a lover of reading. I read many kinds of books and newspaper. I am also a music lover. I like all kinds of music. I often listen to the music programs on radio. I like sports as well. I often run in the morning and play badminton after classes in the afternoon. When I am doing sports, I forge all my trouble and worry.
In short, reading books, listening to music and doing sports are very helpful to my health and my studies.

I was not able to get high marks when I was in primary school. Teachers didn't like me because I was not a good student. Mother considered me as a bad kid. They hurt me by thinking I am a retarded child. But I am no fool. Almost all of my paintings were showed in public. Many famous artists had praised me for my paintings. They called me "little prodigy". And dad was on my side too. He encouraged me to do what I liked and what I thought was proper. He told me that interest is the best teacher. It has been said that when people succeed, it is because of hard work and that luck has nothing to do with success. Although I believe that hard work is very important and is the surest way to success for most people, I must disagree with this statement. It cannot be denied that luck often plays an important role in success.　　
While the influence of luck cannot be ignored, this is not to say that one should depend on it and ignore the value of hard work. If one is willing to work hard, I believe that success will eventually be achieved, with or without the added benefit of luck. Moreover, hard work is often an essential ingredient of luck because it enables one to take advantage of a lucky encounter.
