匡河中学八年级英语口语竞赛活动方案
一、 活动目的：
为了丰富校园文化活动，进一步提高我校学生的英语应用能力，激发学生学习英语的兴趣和积极性，锻炼学生口语交际能力，促进我校学生“学说英语”的良好氛围，英语教研组决定在八年级开展英语口语竞赛活动。
二、活动组织安排
1、八年级各位任课教师在所授课班级进行初选，各班确定出选手。
2、口语竞赛内容及顺序：
a.自背一段英语短文（短文现场抽取，八篇短文）
b．现场即兴作文（五个话题，提前抽取）
 3、评委小组

三、比赛时间、地点
2016年5月17日（星期二）六七八节课在学校报告厅举行
四、评分标准细则（100分）
自背短文和即兴作文各占50分。
1. 背诵：背诵连贯、流利，语速适当（20分）
口齿清晰，语音准确，语调自然（20分）
整体形象大方得体，背诵有感情(10分)
2. 即兴作文：演讲连贯，流利，语速适当，语音语调准确（20分）
语言连贯，无语法错误，措辞得当。语段结构合理，逻辑性强，有个人见解（20分）
充满自信，演讲情感真实自然（10分）
五、奖项设置
本次比赛将按各参赛选手的最后成绩分别评出一等奖（10名）、
二等奖(15名)、三等奖（20名）

Protect Our Eyes
Eyes are very important for us, but there are still many students wearing glasses, and many of them started to wear the glasses when they were young. So we have to protect our eyes. How can we protect our eyes? We should keep a good sitting posture, never read the books too closely. We’d better have a rest every hour of reading, close eyes or look at the distance. We should do the eye exercises every day. In the evening, we also shouldn’t read while we are lying. We shouldn’t play computer games or watch TV too much. And more important, we shouldn’t spend too much time on our cellphones. I think if we do these, we can protect our eyes well.

How to Help Others
Helping others is helping ourselves. It is not a big talk. We also need to do it in our daily life. We are only small children that we can’t give a lot of money to them. But we can help them in the daily life. For example, we can help the blind to go across the road; we can go to the children’s hospital and cheer up the sick kids; we can go to the old people’s home to help them do chores and talk with them. There are many things that we can do for them. We should give our hands to the people in need. Don’t you think living in a world that people help each other would be more wonderful?
Making Friends with My Parents
Since I went to middle school, I didn’t like to talk to parents, because when I told them my idea, they always disagree and asked me to do as what they said. But I think I am not the kid anymore, I have the right to make my decision. My parents realize this. One day, they came into my room and talked to me. They said sorry to me ,they promised I could make decision by myself and they wanted to make friends with me. I was so happy, and my parents really followed their words. I opened my heart and talked with them all the things. Talking to the friends is much easier than talking to the parents.
Life in Middle School
Before I went to the middle school, I felt so worried about the life in middle school, because my cousin told me that I would have to compete with so many excellent students. Now I get used to the life, I learn many subjects from Monday to Friday. Though I always meet the difficulties in learning the new knowledge, I get help from my teachers and classmates. I am not afraid of the middle school life again, I am so excited to learn new things every day. In the future days, I will meet many challenges, I believe I can get over them. Life in middle school has happiness and sadness, but they can make my life colorful.

What Can We Do to Protect the Environment
Now our life is becoming better and better, but at the same time, the environment is becoming worse and worse. What can we do to protect the environment?
First, we should walk or ride the bike to school instead of taking the bus or the car. Walking and riding the bike are both good for our health and the environment. It’s important to save energy. We should turn off the light when we leave the room. We should turn off the TV when we don’t use them. It’s also important to save water. Planting trees is another good idea. Trees help to keep the air clean. Saving paper is necessary. We should use both sides of the paper.
All in all, it’s time to take steps to protect the environment. If everyone tries his best to do that, our earth will become a better place to live on.

How to Develop Good Habits
It’s very important for us to develop good habits. As teenagers, what should we do? In my opinion, we should listen to the teacher carefully and take notes when necessary. It is a good habit to finish the schoolwork on time every day. In free time, we had better read some books to get more knowledge. Also, we should eat more fresh fruit and vegetables and less junk food. It’s necessary for us to take exercise for three or four times a week. What’s more, get enough sleep, go to bed early and don’t stay up late. Always remember to wash our hands before meals to keep clean. Exercise is fun and relaxing. It’s healthy for the mind and body. Healthy lifestyle helps us get good grades and live happily.
Group Activities Help Us Study English Better
In our English Class, we often have group activities. There are usually three or four students in one group. In my opinion, the group activities help us study English better. At first, we should know what the task is and how we will do it. Second, we have to make ourselves understand what we try to express. We should know each group member should play a different role and students should work together. If we have any questions, we should ask our teacher for help. At the same time, we should communicate with our group members. At last, we must show our activities in front of the whole class. It helps us to learn English better.
Should We Do Chores at Home?
Good afternoon, everyone! We had a discussion about chores at home yesterday. I think it is important for children to learn how to do chores and help our parents with the housework. We shouldn’t depend on our parents too much. I usually sweep the floor, take out the rubbish and clean my room. On weekends, I often help my mother cook dinner and do the dishes. Doing chores can help to develop our independence, and it can also make us know how hard our parents are working and understand them better, we can learn a lot from hard work, too.
