Western culture can date back to Ancient Greece. Some of its bases began from Ancient Greece. After the fall of the Roman Empire, western ideas or standards spread to the countries of central and western Europe. These ideas finally crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Although religion, government, and science play important roles in society, the arts have had the most significant influence on North American culture in recent centuries. This new period of time relies heavily on literature, music, dance, and the visual arts as a way of self-expression, creativity, and individuality. The invention of television and the Internet has provided a new source for western values. The populations in Canada and the United States include a large number of families who have immigrated from different countries. Here, people from different backgrounds and nationalities grow up side by side, promoting an accepting society. All in all, American culture is a diverse mix of customs and traditions from nearly every place of the world. Any questions? Please raise your hand.
