Step III new grammar and speaking practice
After showing so many places of interests ask students “where would you like to visit?”, then lead to the new grammar, write the sentences on the blackboard.
A: Where would you like to go on vacation?
B: I’d like to visit the sea.
A: Why would you like to visit there?
B: Because it’s relaxing. I can go surfing, too.
First the teacher reads students follow until they can read frequently. Show the pictures again to practice target language then check it one by one.
Step IV Listening practice 1b and 2a ,2b
Explain the instruction to the students. Make sure everyone understands it. Explain the difficult part.
Ask the students to look at the chart.
Then play the recorder the first time. Students only listen. Play the recorder a second time. Students fill in the chart.

Reading Comprehension

Summer is a good season for vacations. It is often very hot during the months of July and August. Students do not go to school during these two months. Most American families like to travel during their summer vacation.
Americans like going to the beach. I think it is because of the sand, the sea and the sun. Of course, there are lots of new things to see, nice things to eat and exciting things to do, but it is the feeling of sand under one's feet, of salty water on one's skin, and of the warm sun on one's back that makes the seaside what it is.　
Many Americans like to meet people from other countries like Mexico or Canada. Some people have enough time and money to travel to other countries like France, Japan. They usually fly to these countries on planes.
The United States is a very large country. Lots of families travel by car or by train to see interesting places in their own country. People like visiting New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These big cities have many famous buildings, theatres, stores and other places of interest for tourists.
Certainly not everyone likes to go to busy cities. Some families travel to the mountains or to beautiful countries. They usually take a camera and video (录像机), and return with a lot of nice pictures and tapes of the places they visit. Then they would share (分享) them with their friends.
