Step One ：Leading – in
1. Listen to a beautiful passage selected from Crazy English. Let them enjoy the beautiful pronunciation.
2. Listen to a song under the same aim.
Step Two ：Pre – task
1. Present the phrase on the blackboard. ( an + apple ) Let the students read. If they separate the words, draw a line to link ‘n’ and ‘a’. Tell them it’s the first way to link words.
2. Present the phrase ‘best time’, then read and teach them it’s the second way.
3. Present the phrase ‘we enjoy’, then read and teach them it’s the third way.
4. Present the phrase ‘go out’, then read and teach them it’s the fourth way.
Step Three ：While – task
Task 1 Listen to the tape, repeat after the tape. (once)
Task 2 Read individually. Give them three minutes to practice. Then Read together. If they can’t read some words correctly, ask them to listen to the tape again.
Task 3 Read the group words one by one. Compare which group is the best one without making any mistakes. Add some marks for the first three groups.
Step Four: Post-task
1. Make sure that your students have learned when to link well. Then test them. Choose the rules of the four groups below. Then ask some students to read them.

2. Encourage them how to read a longer phrases or sentences fluently. Give them two or three minutes to practice. When they read, they should link the words with pens.

Step 1 presenting
I will present the new lesson like this: Introduce the topic of describing and explaining holiday experiences. Ask if any Ss keep a travel diary when they go on holiday, Ask them to think about what sorts of things they would put in a travel diary.
Step 2  practicing
1. I will ask Ss work in pairs to complete the main areas in Part A.
2. I will ask Ss to read the fact file on page 35.
3. Ask Ss to look at Sandy’s fact file in Part B Tell them that Sandy has made notes about each of the points in her thought. Talk about the fact file in Part B and point out the more detailed information which Sandy wants to include.
Step 3  consolidation exercises

1． Ss work in pairs to complete the main areas in Part A.

2. Ss read the fact file on page 35.

1. Select two Ss to play the roles of Millie and Simon. (Ask Ss to read the conversation out loud. Repeat the answers clearly and ask Ss to check their own work . They then write their scores in the paw. Tell Ss to refer to the grammar section if there were any points they had difficulty with )
