He goes away with his two sisters, Ma Hong and Ma Qing to a village in the middle of the Dahang Mountains one day. With Ma Hong he goes looking for tigers, with Ma Qing he gets lost in a river, and finally, they find a bottle of water.My favourite scene in the film is when everyone thinks Ma Liang is back. He decides to go to his company. He sits and rests for a time, and then suddenly he stands up and runs away. Everyone is surprised to see him back but they re also pleased to see him gone.Ma Liang is the hero of the film, but there are other important characters. Sun Jing is an outsider and everyone is afraid of her. Yang Yali is pretty with her nose, Cheng Ju is Ma Liangs best friend, and Zhang Aihu is the bad man of the film.The themes of the film are to do with men and women making money and becoming mad. It describes how city people are seen in small villages of Dahang Mountains. Finally, it talks about love, money and how people are rewarded for good behaviour.Why do I think The Adventures of Ma Liang is a great film? Wu Li made the film in 1990, but its still watched and loved by people all over China today. And although its only a film, Wu Li made it in the everyday Chinese of the northern provinces of China in the 20th century, so it sounds very real. Today its thought to be one of the greatest films in Chinese films. Go onwatch it! I know youll enjoy it, too.
