【教学目标】
1.能准确地发音和使用rule，branch，training等词汇。能够掌握I will never try to catch a falling dinosaur./You advised him to use a ladder，but he didn’t listen./He was lucky you were there to catch him./“Don’t climb too high，”she warned./She watched me climb higher and higher.等句子。
2.熟练掌握描述“事故”的文章，能够听懂并从中获取有效信息。
3.通过一系列听说练习流利地和他人互相描述一次事故。
4.能用所学词汇和句型进行表达。

重点：掌握本课的词汇和短语。
难点：短语和句式的实际运用。

教学过程
　　一、创设情境，切入主题
Step 1：Warming up
T：Boys and girls，we have learned some accidents in this unit.What have you learned?

Ss：We have learned how to describe an accident.
T：Anything else?
S1：Yes.How to keep safe at home.
S2：What we can do to help after an earthquake.
S3：...
T：OK.Well done！Now we will learn Lessen 18.Are you ready?
设计意图：此环节通过师生间的对话导入本课的话题“怎样避免事故”，利用会话将学生带入本堂场景，预热本课的词汇和句型。
　　二、展开过程，探究新知
Step 2：Pre­reading
Look at the pictures and learn the new words.
大屏幕展示生词的图片，学习新单词，然后进行“头脑风暴”游戏，看谁记住的单词最多。
Present the new words：rule，branch，training等。
Show some pictures of the new words on the screen.Ask Ss to try to read these words.
T：Let’s play a word game.(Ask Ss to look through the new words quickly，and check how many they can remember.Give Ss some pictures of the new words and some word cards.Then show the new words or the pictures of the new words on the screen.For example，when you show the word “branch” on the screen, the student who has the picture of a branch should stand up quickly and say “I’m here！”and then spell out the word.)
设计意图：图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一，学生通过图片，能更直观地理解新单词的含义。此环节重点在新单词及词组的意思和发音上，所以要尽量让更多的学生张口说，必要的机械操练是必不可少的。
Step 3：While­reading
Task 1 Read the text aloud after the recorder.
教师播放对话视频，播放一句，暂停一次，学生观看视频并大声跟读对话。
T：Boys and girls，it’s our reading time，please read after the video and you should pay more attention to your pronunciation and intonation，try your best to imitate it，clear?
设计意图：跟着视频播放器大声朗读课文可以加深对文章的理解，并且对于学生准确的发音以及培养他们的语感有重要的作用。
Task 2 Read the lesson and do Exercise 1 on Page 45.
Task 3 Challenge your memory.
教师给学生最后一次看课文的机会，要求学生尽可能地记忆课文中的内容迎接记忆大挑战，完成课本45页练习2。
设计意图：小组间合作竞争，调动学生的积极性，锻炼学生快速阅读课文的能力，能够在短时间内迅速找出答案，发现课文中的细节，使学生的阅读能力逐步得到提高。
Task 4 Work in group of 8 to deal with the key words，phrases and sentences.
教师把学生分为8人一组，学生通过合作探究找出大屏幕上出现的重点句子，并学习。
T：This time，it’s your own reading time，please read and find the sentences on the screen in groups，and after that we will have a competition.
the key words，phrases and sentences：
1.I will never try to catch a falling dinosaur.我永远不会尝试接住一个正在落下来的恐龙了。
falling dinosaur下落的恐龙。falling此处为现在分词作定语。
2.You advised him to use a ladder，but he didn’t listen.你建议他用梯子，但他不听。
advise sb. to do sth.建议某人做某事。
3.He was lucky you were there to catch him.他很幸运，你在那儿接着他。
4.“Don’t climb too high，”she warned.“不要爬太高，”她警告说。
warn动词，“警告”。warn sb.(not) to do sth.警告某人(不)做某事。
5.She watched me climb higher and higher.她看着我爬得越来越高。
higher and higher 越来越高。
6.It took me three months to recover.我三个月才恢复过来。
It took sb. some time to do sth.花费某人多长时间去做某事。recover动词，“恢复”。
7.I couldn’t attend ping­pong training that year！我不能参加那年的乒乓球训练了。
attend动词，“参加”。通常用作及物动词，其宾语通常是meeting，party，show，wedding，class，school，church等(以及类似具有“活动”意义的名词)。training名词，“训练”，其动词为train。
设计意图：小组间合作竞争，找出本课的重点句型和词汇，在老师的帮助下理解并学习这些句子和词汇，为下一步的学习做准备
Task 5 Competition.
让一位学生自愿到讲台充当教师的角色，领读、提问屏幕上的知识点，学生学习知识点。(此学生所在的小组加2颗星)
T：I will choose a student to come to the front to raise a word or an expression.If you know its meaning，please speak out the meaning as quickly as you can.Ready？Go！(several minutes later)
S1：“当心；小心……”
S2：be careful...
S1：“写信给某人”
S2：...
设计意图：学生应是学习的主体，通过学生提问学生，调动学生学习的积极性和主动性，巩固本课知识。
Step 4：Post­reading
T：Boys and girls，after we have learned the text，let’s do Exercise 3 on Page 45.The exercises are about vocabulary and grammar.There’s still a competition between you.When you finish them，please come to the front to write down.I will give you several minutes.Go!
Step 5：Exercise
教师在大屏幕上呈现一些本节课的相关练习。
　　三、布置作业
1.抄写本课的单词和短语两遍并熟练记住。
2.熟读并背诵本课的重点句型。
