一、教学目标：
1. 语言知识目标：
1) 能掌握以下单词： straight hair, curly hair, wear glasses, outgoing, serious, polite, impolite,
2) 能掌握以下句型：
① Mario used to be short.
②Mario didn’t use to be short.
3) 能够用英语描述自己或他人过去常常做的事情；发现自己或他人在外表、性格等方面所发生的变化。
2. 情感态度价值观目标：
让学生明白事物是在不断发展、变化的道理，培养学生积极向上的心态。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点：
1) 掌握本课中出现的单词straight hair, curly hair, wear glasses outgoing, serious, polite, impolite
2) 学会描述自己或他人过去常常做的事情基本句型：
I used to…
3）发现自己或他人在外表、性格等方面所发生的变化。

used to do/be 句型
三、教学过程
Ⅰ.Warming up
观赏一儿歌视频In a dark, dark town, 引入本单元课题I used to be afraid of the dark。
Ⅱ.words study
1. 师生一起学习能够描述人外貌和性格的单词。
2. 齐读并记住这些单词。
3. 通过小游戏来巩固刚学的重难点单词。（Game: magic eyes）
Ⅲ.Presentation
1. 通过对比释小龙小时候和现在的照片来引导学生来描述他的不同特点。
eg. He was short in the past, but now he is tall.
2. 学习用used to 来描述人的变化，并讲解其用法。
eg. He used to be short.
3. 给学生3分钟的时间来练习对话，巩固used to的用法。
eg. A: I used to be short. B: But now you are tall.
Ⅳ.Listening
1. 引导学生了解听力对话背景，为听力练习做准备。
2. 听录音，完成句子，请同学上黑板写出答案，并核对。
3. 再听一遍，补全对话。
4. 齐读对话。
Ⅴ.Grammar Focus
1. 由听力材料中，得出几个肯定句，将肯定句变为否定句，并掌握其结构。
① Mario used to be short.
② Mario didn’t use to be short.
2. 通过做习题来巩固肯定句变否定句的用法。
3. 检查习题答案。
Ⅵ. Homework
1. Preview new words and expressions on page 26.
2. Make 4 sentences with used to.
3. Write an article to describe your father’s or mother’s past and now.
