Pandas
Pandas live in the bamboo forests and mountains of Southwest China. The area of bamboo is becoming smaller for many different reasons, so pandas have less and less land to live on. As few as 1600 pandas live in the mountain forests of central China. Another 120 pandas are kept in zoos and nature reserves in China, and about 20 live in the zoos outside China.Pandas don’t have many babies, and baby pandas often die. The situation is becoming very serious.
The Chinese government is working hard to save pandas. Different methods have been used. There are more than 30 nature reserves to protect pandas. Scientists are studying how they live and more baby pandas are being born in the zoos, pandas born in zoos may go back to live in the nature reserves.
Pandas have also received good treatment in the United States. Early in 1987, China sent two pandas to the San Diego Zoo. More than two million people were able to visit the pandas during their stay. In 1999, the first baby panda was born there. Now the Wild Animao Park in San Diego housed most of the pandas in the United States.
Most people love pandas. Among the rarest animals in the world, pandas symbolize endangered animals. With the work of all the people in the world, pandas may live happily both at home and abroad.

Bruce Lee was a master of martial arts(武术). During his short life he starred in many movies and TV shows. His acting was funny and original, and his fighting skill was incredible.
He was born in San Francisco(旧金山) ,California(卡利福尼亚州)in 1940. Soon after that, his family moved to Hong Kong. As a child, Lee appeared in 20 movies. At the age of 13, he started to learn Kung fu. His skill grew very quickly. In 1959, Bruce Lee moved back to America. He went to high school and university there. To earn money, he taught martial arts. He also developed a new style of martial arts,which is called “Jeet Kune Do”. In 1966, Bruce appeared in the TV show The Green Hornet. It earned Lee many fans in America and Hong Kong. Lee returned to Hong Kong in 1971. There, he made three very popular Kung fu movies. Then, in 1973, he starred in the movies Enter the Dragon for Warner Brothers（龙争虎斗）,an American movie company.
That year, Bruce Lee died. He was only 33 years old. After his death, many actors copied his style and kung fu movies became more and more popupar. Bruce was special, he was, and will always be, the Little Dragon.

Hobbies
Most people have many different kinds of hobbies. Some are useful to us, but others are harmful. There are many kinds of good hobbies, such as listening to music, playing the piano, singing songs, collecting stamps, playing football, reading books, and going on vacations. They can not only widen our knowledge, but also can bring great fun to our daily life. They can make us feel much happier and healthier. On the other hand, there are also lots of bad hobbies. For example, smoking and playing games on the internet for a long time are bad for our health.
I have many good hobbies. I enjoy playing the guitar, listening to music, collecting stamps and playing tennis. I think these hobbies make my life full of happiness. But I have some bad hobbies,too. I am interested in playing computer games. It wastes me a lot of time. I want to give it up, but I can’t. This term I will try my best to stop playing computer games and study hard to make much progress. I like eating too much meat. It makes me fat and it is bad for my health. So I have to eat less meat in order to be healthy. Soming is harmful to people’s health. I hope those who have been smoking can give it up.

Boys and girls, old and young, men and women all like playing basketball or watching basketball matches. Playing basketball is exciting. However, it is not easy to become a good basketball player. I enjoy playing basketball because it not only helps me to build my body but also helps me to make friends with others. Before playing the game, I had few friends, but after I joined a team, I made more and more friends and got on well with them.
Playing baskeball is very interesting. Many people like watching it, because basketball is not only fun to play, but also very exciting to watch. The best part about watching a basketball game is not simply seeing which team will win, it is watching the graceful moves skilled players make. If you watch these moves instead of the scoreboard , you will learn that a good basketball player is not only an athlete, but also an artist.
