Teaching and learning steps:
Step1: Learn to read the words on P37---41
1. Read the new words using the phonetics(音标) and mark(标记) the words difficult to pronounce (难发音的单词).
2. Read the marked words in turn in small groups. One student read, the others listen and help to correct the wrong pronunciation(纠正错误发音).
3. Several students read the words aloud in turn in class and the others correct their wrong pronunciations.
4. Read after the tape.
5. Read the words aloud by yourselves again.
(设计意图：目的是通过预习单词,学生基本上能按音节拼读记忆单词,改变了传统死记硬背记单词的方法,再让 学生分组读、跟录音读便于纠正学生的发音。为下一步本课的学习打好铺垫。)

Step 3 Consolidation of words
Ask the students to read the words and phrases and their Chinese. Cover the English words and phrases , look at the Chinese and say the English for them. Write down the words they haven’t grasped.
（设计意图：此环节为巩固单词。不达标学生，需要利用自习课或课余的时间让小组长跟踪检查，尽量能让 学生顺利过关，教师应及时督促、让小组长反馈检查的结果，做好跟踪检查。）
Step 4 Read the story and translate into Chinese:

亮点：

本单元的单词课堂设计基本涵盖了本单元的词汇，单词的认读部分体现了自主学习基础上的合作学习；单词的记忆部分意在引导学生形成有效的单词学习策略；短文编写则是让学生在语义场范畴内体会单词的运用；而Mind map更是培养学生树立起语篇的脉络意识以及全面分析问题和解决问题问题的能力。
不足之处：
一节课内容设计的有些多，如果合理的利用，还是能充分完成的。同时本节课容量较大，部分环节不能很好的展示与训练。
使用建议：
首先要对单元内容达到熟练掌握，能够基本明确单词在单元中的位置及其用法，同时必须准备完善的的多媒体课件，而且不一定每一步都详细的进行。要有针对性的取舍才能有效地增加课堂效率。
