Step 1 Review 第一步 复习(时间:15分钟)
(教师将一个玩具机器人和一个玩具汽车进行比较，复习形容词的比较级，引出生词及be sure的用法，逐渐导入新课。)
T: Boys and girls. Look, what are these?
Ss: They are toys.
T: Which one do you like better, the robot or the car?
(教师说时拿出机器人演示，让学生理解robot的意思并板书。)

S1: Because I think the robot is more interesting than the car.

T: Oh, it was invented in 1921. Many students are interested in robots. Could you tell me what robots can do for us?

T: Very good. Robots can do many different kinds of jobs. Robots can take the place of humans to do lots of dangerous work. It means robots can do lots of dangerous work instead of humans.

T: We know robots can do a lot of things for us. My bike is broken. I have to repair it. Are you sure robots can mend my bike?
(教师边说边板书repair。注意此处用be sure，初步让学生理解be sure是表示肯定的一种说法。)

T: Robots are very useful to humans. Do you want to know more about robots? Now let’s listen to 1a and answer the following questions.

(2)When did the scientists invent the first robot?
(3)Can robots do any work faster and better than humans?
(核对答案。)
Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 巩固(时间:10分钟)
1. (学生先自己朗读1a, 然后跟读，注意语音语调。写下关键词。)
T: Read 1a first, then listen to the tape and follow. Write down the key words.
2. (让学生根据关键词两人一组练习1a，然后找几组学生到前面表演对话。)
T: Please practise 1a in pairs and then act it out in the front of the classroom according to the key words.

T: Well done! Now please look at 1b. Can you write down the right answers according to the dialog?

Step 5 Project 第五步 综合探究活动(时间:5分钟)
1. (假设学生是科学家，设计了新一代的机器人，两人一组对话或写一篇短文介绍，尽量使用be sure句式。)
T: Suppose you are a scientist, and you have invented a new kind of robot. Make a dialog or write a passage to introduce it. Try to use the sentence patterns with “be sure”.
2. Homework:
课后搜集有关机器人和UFO的信息，然后把搜集的信息用英语写一个报告。尽量使用be sure句式并加进自己的观点。
