一、 教学目标
（一）语言知识目标
1.掌握与头发和护法相关的重点词汇及句型
2.了解广告传单的特点
(二)阅读微技能目标
1.培养学生通过略读（skimming），了解文章大意的技能；
2. 培养学生通过找读（scanning），获取文章主要信息的技能；
3. 培养学生了解重点细节(major details)的技能
4.培养学生通过上下文猜测词义(guessing)和判断条理(reasoning)的技能
（三）情感目标
通过分析广告传单语言的特点，培养学生服务他人的责任意识。
（四）语言功能目标
培养学生用英语进行正面的广告宣传的能力
二、 教学设计
（一）总体思路
本阅读课将阅读过程分为三个阶段的活动，即：读前活动（pre-reading activities）、读中活动（while-reading activities ）、和读后活动（post-reading activities ）。读前活动主要是引出话题，创设情境和悬念，引起阅读兴趣；读中活动主要是让学生通过skimming,scanning,major details, guessing and reasoning等活动理解课文，获取必要信息，完成选择、填词、回答问题等活动；读后活动是让学生看两个广告，然后结合所学知识，通过小组讨论给某个洗发水制作一则广告，完成语言由输入(input)到输出(output)的过程。
（二）教学过程
I. Pre-reading activities
1. Show the students a group of pictures about hairstyles. Ask them what kind of hairstyle suits them best and ask them the reasons.
2. Tell the students a new hairdressing salon has been opened and suggest they go there and ask for advice.
用图片引入话题能更好地激发学生对话题的兴趣，因为视觉比听觉更直观；创设符合学生心理年龄特点的情境让学生感觉更贴近现实生活，并且自然地过渡到下一个环节，读中活动。
II.While-reading activities
Activity 1: skimming
Ask the students to read the title, the instruction,the pictures on the next page and skim the text quickly and then complete the following senteces.

Activity :2 scanning
Ask the students to scan the passage and find facts to complete the following sentences.

3. __________hair suits square faces.
4. Hairbrushes and combs should be very ___________.
5.A hairdryer should be used at a _________temperature.
找读环节培养学生快速寻找信息的技能，无须逐字逐句阅读。
Activity 3: major details

Get the students to find some important major details through reading the passage. After they finish the questions, give them two minutes to discuss the answers with their deskmates.

Ask the students to work in pairs and discuss the following questions.

Activity 4 里设置的三个问题，重点在于培养学生通过上下文猜测词义，分析句子、段落甚至文章结构的能力。
III. Post-reading activities
Activity 5: Discussion
Have the students show their opinions on the characteristics of advertisements.Also get them to answer the question in pre-reading activities.
1. Can you say something about the advertisement, like its language?

这个活动环节为语言输出作准备，问题3的设置又是对读前活动的呼应。
Activity 6: Making an advertisement
First show the students two advertisements and tell them some useful words. Then suppose that they are salesmen or salesgirls They are going to make an advertisement for Bawang shampoo or Pantene in groups of four.
前面5个活动都是个体活动或者两人活动，这个环节里将活动设置为四人小组活动，不仅因为活动的设置本身难度提升，更是为了增加活动的丰富性。

1. Finish the reading exercises in “More practice” on page 28.
2. Write down the advertisements you made in class
课后阅读More Practice 里的文章能够巩固课堂所学知识，提示学生将所学阅读技巧运用于实践；另外要求学生将课堂上所做的广告写成文字形式，就完成了语言从输入、吸收到输出的全过程。

What sort of hairstyle is best for me?

Is your face round, square, long or heart-shaped? Short hairstyles usually suit round faces. They make the face look longer. Longer hairstyles suit round faces. They hide the angels of the face. Your hairstyle depends on your lifestyle too. If you are a busy person, it is easier for you to look after a short hairstyle.

How can I keep my hair healthy?

First of all, keep yourself healthy. Have a good diet and get plenty of exercise. You will shine and so will your hair. Also, look after your hair at home. City air is dirty, so it would be wise of you to wash your hair often. Here are some of the things you need for proper hair care at home.
Hairbrushes and combs
These should be soft enough not to damage your hair. Before washing, brush your hair carefully to loosen any dirt.
Towels and hairdryers
Dry your hair gently with a towel before using the hairdryer. Always set it at a low temperature. Hold it at least 10 cm from your hair. Do not use your hairdryer too much—that will dry out your hair.
