1. 双人活动。 老师给出短语或图片, 请同学回答问题或做对话。 老师可以先做示范, 然后请同学仿照例句进行问答练习。

2)展示徐海峰在奥运赛场上举枪射击的图片
A: Who won the first gold medal in the Olympics?

3)展示李宁在奥运赛场上比赛的图片
A: How many gold medals did Li Ning win?
B: He won three gold medals.
4)展示短语:28 gold medals
A When did we get 28 gold medals?
B: We got 28 gold medals in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
5) 展示短语:32 gold medals
A: When did we get 32 gold medals?

谈论后每组同学派一名代表到前面介绍本组同学的打算：

     The main activity is 1a.
Teaching aims and demands:
     1. Review and summarize the Simple Future Tense.
     2. Review and summarize the Object Clause.
     3. Go on learning something about the Olympics.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Review
     1. Work in pairs. The teacher shows the pictures or the phrases, and ask the students to answer the questions or make dialogs. The teacher can give a model first.
1) Show the phrase: take part in the Olympics for the first time
A: When did China take part in the. Olympics for the first time?
B: In 1952 China took part in the. Olympics for the first time.
2) Show the picture of Xu Haifeng shooting at the Olympics.
A: Who won the first gold medal in the Olympics?
B: Xu Haifeng won the first gold medal.
3) Show the picture of Li Ning competing at the Olympics.
A: How many gold medals did Li Ning win?
B: He won three gold medals.
4) Show the phrase: 28 gold medals
A: When did we get 28 gold medals?
B: We got 28 gold medals in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
5) Show the phrase: 32 gold medals
A: When did we get 32 gold medals?
B: We got 32 gold medals in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
6) Show Sydney Olympics’mascot.

Step 2 Presentation
     1. Show the Olympic Rings and ask the students:
What flag is it?
How many rings are there?
What colors are the rings?
     2. Work alone. Read the passage in 1a and fill in the blanks in 1a.
     3. Work alone. According to the passage in 1a, and finish 1b.

Step 3 Consolidation
     1. Work in groups. Suppose we will have a sevenday holiday, ask the students to talk about what we will do during our holiday. The teacher can give a model first.
Maybe I will go to Beijing. I think I will climb the Great Wall / visit the Summer Palace...
And then ask one student from each group to introduce what they will do during the holiday.
Li Hua will stay at home and do her homework.
Zhou Pengfei will go to Kunming.
Li Ming will play basketball with his friends.
I think I will go to the library and read books.
     2. Work in groups. Ask the students to imagine the changes that will take place in Beijing and China in 2008.
I think there will be more roads in Beijing.
I think there will be more trees and grass in Beijing.
I think there will be more foreign friends in Beijing.
     3. Work in pairs. Make up a dialog about going to the zoo next Saturday. Finish 2b.
A: What will you do next Saturday afternoon?

     1. Work alone. Complete the crossword puzzle. Finish 3.
     2. Class activities. Sing the song: “To Be Number One”.

Step 5 Project
     Work in groups. Collect the information about sports, and then make a card to introduce the information to the class.
