Indicated above is a graph showing the steady growth of citizens’ income in towns and the country from 1978 to 1998. According to this curve, income of citizens in towns increased sharply, rising from a mere 343.9 Yuan in 1978 to as much as 5425 Yuan in 1998. Similarly, income in the country is also on the surge.
Why this phenomenon occurs? Personally I believe that there are two factors accounting for this shift. To begin with, as economy forces on, people in towns and country area have more job opportunity. As a result, their income increases steadily. More importantly, Chinese government adopt active measures to boost trade. As production expands, therefore more products are manufactured and sold; therefore profit rises, which in turn drives people’s income.
On the basis of analysis above, it is safe to conclude that this exciting trend will be going on in a better direction. (20 points)

Indicated above is a table of Diet and Health, which described vividly the daily intake of calorie and protein per capita between a British and an Indian.
According to the table, people vary greatly in their daily requirement of calorie and protein intake. A British citizen requires 2500 calories and protein. By comparison, an Indian citizen consumes far less amount of the same nutrient. On the other hand, it can be seen from the table that as the daily intake increases, life expectancy rises accordingly. In Britain, when a citizen consumes 3150 units of calories and 87.5 units of protein respectively, his life expectancy also rises to as long as 68 years. Conversely, Indian people tend to live shorter when they intake less nutrients.
On the basis of analysis above, it is reasonable to conclude that daily calorie and protein intake may be important for one’s life expectancy. (20 points)
