1、Final Exam Rubric – English Speaking, Video, Listening
Two options:
1) Perform a 2-3 minute speech (individually) on a topic of your choice
2) In a group of 2-4 people, create a 3-5 minute ‘promotional’ video on a topic of your choice.
Grading will be based on:
1) Speaking (50%): (Volume –
2、10%), (Body Language – 15%), (Enunciation, Pronunciation, & Tempo – 25%)
a. Speaking Volume & Clarity – Can I (and the audience) hear you clearly
b. Body Language
i. Use of hands, stage, purposeful movement
ii. Eye contact
c. Enunciation, pronunciation, & tempo
i. Enunciation – Does the speake
3、r place extra emphasis on specific (ie – important) words?
1. Example: I believe, that for our generation to flourish we must work together to solve problems.
ii. Pronunciation – Are words pronounced clearly and correctly
1. Example: ‘Th’ sound, ‘V’ sound. Is careful attention paid to pronounc

iii. Tempo – Is there an appropriate tempo to the speech
1. Example – Some parts spoken slowly for added affect. Is there a variety of different speeds, or does it sound more flat and robotic?
2) Content (35%) (Organization – 10%), (Explanation – 15%), (Grammar – 10%)

5、tion – Is the organization logical?
b. Explanation – Are examples, stories, details provided to help explain the topic in a relevant way that is easy to understand?
c. Grammar & vocabulary – Is the vocabulary suitable (used in the correct way) and is the talk grammatically sound?
3) Pre-final mat
6、erials (10%) (On time – 5%), (Accuracy – 5%)
a. On time – were pre-final materials submitted at the correct time?
b. Accuracy – Was a concise explanation of the topic provided?
4) Active listening & questions (5%)
a. Active listening – Were non-speaking students active in listening?
i. No talking, no cell phone, etc.
b. Questions – Did the students ever ask questions?
