沿革
國立臺北大學正式更名並成立於民國八十九年二月，新的校區位於三峽鎮，是台北近郊一座富饒傳統文化之美的城市。休閒運動與管理學系於民國九十一年八月成立，初期置於人文學院，民國九十四年經過校務會議同意後改置於商學院。

About the Department of Recreational Sport Management
National Taipei University (NTPU) was officially renamed and established in February 2000. The new main campus is located in San-Shia, a small attractive city in the outskirts of Taipei. The Department of Recreational Sport Management was established in August 2002 and was previously a part of the College of Humanities. In August 2005 it was transferred to the College of Business at the agreement of the school synod.

What is the program for?
Preparing professional personnel for recreational sports management and the leisure industry.

課程
休閒運動與管理學士學位課程，依本系規範必須修滿138學分的大學部課程。包含校定必修課程（28學分）、系必修（39學分）、系選修（至少23學分）、學門必修（6學分）、學門選修（至少30學分）以及運動技術課程（至少12學分）。本系課程以商學基礎知識為根基，以休閒及運動管理為雙核心主軸，並佐以體育健康與運動技巧知能，及服務學習和實務實習之機會，期能提供學生適應學習環境與更具前瞻性與競爭力之課程內容。
Program Information
The Bachelor of Recreational Sport Management (BA) program: Students are required to obtain at least 138 credits before graduating, including 28 credits of University required classes, 39 credits in classes required by the Recreational Sport Management Department, 23 elective credits in the department, 6 credits in classes required by specialty field, 30 credits in the core elective, and 12 movement skill elective credits. The BA program is designed to develop the studednts’ specialty in recreational sports management. In order to enhance students’ competence, the BA program integrates a variety of theoretical studies into the curriculum. Elementary business study knowledge is the foundation, taking recreation and sport management as two main axies and providing information on business and sport; sports health and  movement skills. Opportunities for community service practice and internships in recreational sports management are provided.

設備

圖書設備
本校商學大樓設有圖書室，並配置多部網際網路電腦，提供學生閱讀及查詢休閒運動與管理相關資料，有效並即時吸收新知。

Library Facilities
The College of Business is outfitted with a library, and offers many computers with Internet access, so students can access new information by searching for and reading recreational sports management related literature. 

場地設備
本校三峽校區運動場所面積約十五公頃，已完成之運動場地包括籃球場、棒壘球場、排球場、網球場、攀岩場、多功能健身中心、高爾夫球場、田徑場等，且將逐年完成體育館及游泳池等場地，場地遼闊、設備新穎，適合從事休閒運動之教學與學習。

Sports Facilities
There are about 15 hectares of sports fields on the San-Shia Campus, including basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, rock climbing, fitness center, golf, and track and field facilities. In the near future, the school will expand the building of a gym and swimming pool. So every student has sufficient facilities to practice recreational sports at National Taipei University.

獎助學金
近年來本系學生可領到的獎學金包括，謝孟真老師獎學金及系主任獎學金。此外，尚有其他獎助學金機會，包括擔任教授之研究助理、系行政助理、多功能健身中心之工讀生。對於兼任校外實習工作有興趣之學生，本系將許多雇主所寄送的工作說明，張貼於本系佈告欄。學生們常藉由校外實習和工讀機會，獲得寶貴的實務知識。

Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Recently, our students have received scholarships from Ms. Hsieh, M. C. and the department Chairman. In addition, there are also other financial support provisions which take the form of research assistant positions with the Recreational Sport Management Department faculty, part-time administrative assistants subject to the needs of the department, and part-time assistants at the fitness center. For students interested in off-campus part-time internship, we have many employers who know what our students have to offer sending job descriptions to be posted on our department bulletin board. Our students gain valuable working knowledge through internship programs and part-time employment.

Careers & Employment Service
After finishing the study, our students may decide to:
l Pursue further academic degrees in recreation, leisure, physical education, sport management, sport science, and management-related departments.
l Take the government exam for administration of Education or Physical Education.
l Work in health and fitness-related clubs, the sport media industry or the professional sports industry.
l Work in amusement parks and resort industries.
l Be tour managers. 
l Be elementary school teachers.
l Be recreational sports instructors or coaches.

理論與實際並重，積極和政府與企業等單位建教合作，使休閒運動與管理之專業能夠學以致用，豐富實務經驗。
整合相關領域之研究，配合休閒運動與管理產業特色，奠定休閒運動與管理領域之專業基礎。
持續進行國際、校際學術交流活動，促進休閒運動與管理學術領域之研究發展。
配合國家社會的發展，提昇國內休閒運動的品質。
