、 Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Now I’m going to share my teaching designs and ideas with you. My topic is Unit 6 Do you like bananas? Section B from 1a to 2c. I’m going to analyze this lesson in 8 parts. Let’s begin with Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material. No.1—Teaching Content Analysis.
、 In this lesson, ss will go on talking about likes and dislikes, such as “Do you like bananas? Yes, I do. Or No, I don’t.” It is not only the consolidation of Section A in this unit, but also an extension of the target language. All the activities in this period are interesting, so I’m sure they are
、 happy to learn, and then a lively atmosphere can be created. Next, please look at the Teaching Aims. The first one is Knowledge Aims. The ss should learn the usage of the verb like, including affirmatives, negatives and yes-no questions. They should also grasp more names of fruits, vegetables
、and the names of meals. The second, Ability Aims. The aims of teaching English is to train the ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, but in this lesson, training their abilities of listening and speaking is the most important. For the Aims of moral education I think teaching t
、he ss knowledge is not the only aim. In this lesson, I have a good chance to get the ss know that it’s important to have a healthy diet habit. At the same time this lesson can cultivate the ss to care for their families, classmates and friends. In this lesson, the important and difficult point is
、 that ss should learn to freely talk about the food that they or others like or dislike. The words on the screen are also useful words when they talk about food. Well, that’s all for Part 1. Let’s go on with Part 2, Analysis of ss. As a teacher, I should not only know the lessons well, but also
、know my ss. They have already had some primary skills in listening and speaking. Besides this, the topic in this lesson is very close to the ss’ life. What’s more, they all like western food, such as hamburgers and French-fries, so they will be interested in learning this lesson. Of course they won’
、t feel difficult to grasp the target language. (Analysis of Teaching method)But as junior middle school students, it’s hard for them to keep their attention on something for a long time, so in this lesson in order to attract their attention and keep their enthusiasm, I will use Audio-visual Guidi
、ng Method, Task-based Language Teaching and Multi-media Teaching. I’m going to show some pictures to the ss. I’ll give the ss some tasks, such as doing surveys, to help them grasp the new words and the target language. In order to make my class lively and interesting, I will use the multi-media comp
、uter system. Multi-media can provide a real situation with its sound and pictures. It can also attract the ss to put their hearts into the lesson and arouse their interests of learning English. (Learning method) For the ss’ learning strategies, I prefer to cultivate their abilities of communicati
、on, co-operation self-valuation and self-adjusting which will help them to understand and adjust themselves better. The ss must have a good review before class. They should also take an active part in the class activities and finish the tasks with the target language to cultivate their abilities.
、 Now I will mainly talk about my teaching procedures. I’m going to divide my following teaching steps into 3 parts: less open-ended activities, more open-ended activities and full open-ended activities. This step-by-step progression allows the ss to build accuracy and gain confidence with the new la
、nguage. Full open-ended activities is the third part. In this part, I will ask the ss to work in groups of 4. I’m going to have a birthday party, soT. At last I will ask some groups to show their survey to the whole class. We all know it’s important that ss not only learn the target language, but
、also learn to use the target language. In this step, ss have a chance to use the new language to talk with their classmates and to participate in full open-ended exchanges. In addition, working in small groups allows them to talk more informally and also fosters a sense of cooperation in the classro
、om. Here is the last step Homework. The ss should ask their parents what kind of food they like and dislike, then write down a short passage in the exercise book. This homework provides writing practice. As we know, writing is the most difficult for ss. So if we can give the ss a writing training
、 in each lesson, their ability of writing will be quickly improved. I also think that homework is very helpful for the ss to review what they have learnt in class. So it’s necessary for the ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate what they have learned. Now please look at the
、 screen. This is my blackboard design. The most important sentence patterns are in the middle. And the new words are beside the sentences. I want to make my blackboard simple, direct and helpful so that the ss can see and understand the target language clearly. Then let’s come to Part 7 Valuatio
、n. The aim of valuation is not only to tell the ss whether they are right or wrong, but also to give the ss motivation and confidence. So I will encourage and praise my ss whenever they perform well. I will adopt other forms to valuate the ss in different steps: teacher to student, ss to ss, group
、to group, including their actions in class and their homework after class. Here is the last part, Summary. In my teaching, I try my best to make my lesson lively and easy-understood. The most important thing is to see if most of the ss can grasp the new words and the target language, if they can
、 learn to communicate with each other, if the advanced ss can use the target language freely and for the less advanced ss, if they can increase their vocabulary. My purpose is not only to teach my ss a language, but also to help them to be good English learners. OK! That’s all. Thank you very much for your listening! See you next time!
