5、age of eight. 2、表示许可或请求,常用来请求别人做某事或自己做某事要征求别人的许可。此时could不是can的过去式,而是使语气更委婉。 Could I use your pen? ----Yes, sure. / ----Sorry, you can’t. (二)辨析can与could can与could都是情态动词,could是can的过去式,二者后面都要接动词原形。 二者都可以表示能力,相当于be able to。 此时,can 与现在的时间状语连用,could与过去的时间状语连用。 二者都可以表示请求或许可,但could比can语气更委婉,回答都
