B: I should have come earlier. So, what’s good at the moment?
A: It’s been sunny for the last few weeks, which is good for the blueberries. The cherries are nice too.

A: My mum went down to Florida to see my grandmother. She’ll be back next week.
B: I see. It’s just that I asked her to save some red peppers for me （save：拯救，存钱，储存，这里是帮我留些红辣椒）. Last week they were all gone不见了=卖光了 when I got here.
A: Don’t worry. I’ve got tons of them （ton原本是吨，tons of是“很多”） here today. How many do you need?
B: About 6. How much are the cabbages?
A: They’re 1.59 each.
B: I just walked by路过 Rolters. The cabbages over there are only a dollar 29 each. You know, I’m a good customer I come to you every week.
A: Sure, I’ll give you the same price. How many would you like?

A: The peas are 2 dollars a pound. They are almost gone（快卖完了，be gone=人走了或挂了，东西丢了）. How about I give you the rest of them for 3 dollars?
B: All right. How much is it in total?
A: The total is 12.87. 7 dollars and 13 cents is your change. Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Buying Meat
A: I really have no idea, what I should do for dinner on Saturday night. We can’t feed your parents frozen dinner （速冻食品：frozen food）. You’ve got to help me with this, what do they like?
B: Don’t be so anxious紧张的. My parents are quite easy to please满足. My mum likes potatoes and my dad loves greasy food油腻. And they are both meat eaters. We’ll think something together.
A: We remember we had beef tenderloin（loin，腰，tender嫩的，合起来=嫩腰肉） at Nancy’s Christmas party. I could get the recipe菜谱 from her. How does that sound?
B: I don’t think it’s a good idea to have beef around this time. I’m concerned about mad cow disease疯牛病. You never know where the beef came from. We’d better play it safe.

At the Meat Stand肉铺
A: How about barbecue the ribs? （人：肋骨，猪：排骨） We only need to cook them on the grill烤架 or choke塞 them in the oven烤箱. It’s easy and quick.
B: Now, you’re talking. 好主意。这个是习惯用语。

A: Can I help you?
B: How much are those ribs?
A: 5.99 a pound. How much do you need?
B: It’s for 4 people. I guess 3 pounds should be enough.

At the Poultry Stand （家禽）
A: We’ve got ribs and lambs. But I think they are both a little heavy. Should we have something light清淡的, like chicken salad?
B: You’re right! Ribs and lamb are a bit heavy. Chicken salad would be nice. I know my mum likes chicken.
A: I’d like some chicken breasts about 2 pieces. Could you take the skin off for me?
C: We’ve got skinless没皮的 and boneless没骨头的 chicken breasts over there. Would you prefer those?
A: Yeah, even better. These look smaller. How much are they?
C: 2.50 a pound. Let’s make it seven dollars with one smaller piece. Is that alright with you?
