我要去美国之餐厅篇
第一部分
我们来谈谈一些在餐厅内会用到的句子，以及一些跟吃饭有关的单字片语，相信从此以后到美国餐厅用餐不再是件难事。
1. Do you like to go out eating?
想不想出去吃呢?
问老美出去吃东西，他回答说一般出去吃饭，他们只说go to eat ，go out eating 或是eat out 而不会说go to dinner，go for lunch，也就是不需特地说中餐或是晚餐。应该要说的I just went out eating，而不会说I just went to dinner。小明细多注意，你的英文会更棒。
如果要强调是去吃午餐或晚餐的话，一般就直接说lunch 或是dinner。
例如人家问你，“Where did you go?” 你就可答说“lunch”
2. There is a Deli over there，do you like it?
那里有一家Deli（餐厅），你喜不喜欢呢？
美国的餐厅可分很多种，Restaurant 是一般的通称，另外常用到的有Deli ：供应三明治，沙拉这种现成的，不需再经过烹调的餐厅，例如SUBWAY 就可以算是Deli。另外还有Grill 也随处可见，翻译成烤肉餐厅，多半是提供牛排，汉堡热食类的食物。
Deli 这个字是delicatessen 的简写，可是现今在美国一般只会听到deli 而很少听到delicatessen 了!
Tips：老外早餐都吃什么呢？哈哈~~，美国人的早餐是最便捷，但是也是世界上最不健康的早餐，牛奶，热量高的面包，汉堡，炸类的东西，还有咖啡！所以美国胖子很多！
2. What do you like to drink?
想要喝什么？
美国餐厅的习惯，吃饭时都会点一大杯饮料，所以侍者一定会先问你What do you like to drink。
也有人会这么说，Can I get you something to drink?一般餐厅都会提供的有Coke，Diet Coke，Sprite，Iced Tea，以及Lemonade 等。如果什么都不要，就说Just water 。
值得注意的是，在一般的速食店提到drink 都是指soft drink 而言。但是一般人说到have a drink 时，他们多半指的是alcoholic，也就是含酒精的饮料。所以如果有人问你，“Come on, have a drink with us.” 他绝不是要你跟他们一起喝可乐的意思，而是要你跟他们一起喝酒啦!
4. Are you ready to order or just a minute?
你们准备好了吗？ 还是要再等一会？
通常饮料上桌之后，大伙都还要花点时间研究一下菜单，如果侍者看你们大概都差不多了，他就会过来问你们，Are you ready to order or just a minute?如果是已经准备好要点餐了，就直接跟她说你想吃什么，如果大家还要再研究研究，则可以跟侍者说Just a minute。或是Wait a few more minutes。请他等一下，他会说OK. I'll be back.（好，那我等下再来。）

5. Do you want to separate check?
你们要不要分开付账？
比如说二对夫妻出去吃饭，大家想各自付自己的，则你们可以主动跟侍者说的We want to separate check。有时他们也会主动问你 Do you want to separate check?或是Do you want separate checks? 这样的话账单就会有二张。但有些餐厅separate check 会多收服务费，最好先问清楚。如果是要一起付，则简单地说，together或是one check 就可以了。
第二部分
旅途中品尝异国美食时的兴奋与期待，就好象买了彩券等待开奖一般，你永远不知道结果会是bingo（很好）还是全军覆没，然而，无论结果如何，它都将是旅程中难忘的回忆。如果菜式不合口味，有时向服务生索取调味酱，自己调味一番，倒也挺入口的。用完餐付费时，千万别忘了确认帐单数目，以及付些小费表示谢意。
Could you tell me how to eat this? 请告诉我要如何食用这道菜？
Is coffee included in this meal? 有咖啡做为附餐吗？
Could you pass me the salt (pepper)? 请把盐（楜椒）传给我。
May I smoke? 可以抽烟吗？
A glass of water, please. 请给我一杯水。
My order hasn't come yet. 我点的食物还没来。 Not Yet——还没有。
May I have a bottle of mineral water? 请给我一瓶矿泉水。
This is not what I ordered. 这不是我点的食物。
Check, please. 麻烦请结帐。
May I have some more bread, please. 请再给我一些面包。
Can I pay here? 可以在这儿付帐吗？
I'd like a dessert, please. 请给我一些甜点。
We like to pay separately. 我们想要分开算帐。
What do you have for dessert? 甜点有那几种？ （注意这个词的发音和意思）
I think there is a mistake in the bill. 帐单有一些错误。
May I have some cheese? 可以给我一些芝士吗？
Could you check it again? 可不可以麻烦再确认一次帐单？
What kind of cheese is this? 这是什么口味的芝士？
Can I pay with this credit card? 可以用这张信用卡付帐吗？
May I have just a little of it? 可以给我一点这个吗？
May I have the receipt, please. 请给我收据。

第三部分
点菜有两种方式，一是照单点菜menu，一是fixed price meal套餐，后一种有几道固定的菜肴和饮料，价格也是固定的。
它的优点就是方便快捷，点菜时只需指着菜单说：
Please give me this one. 请给我来这个。
We want two number eights, please. 我们要四份第八套餐。
1在点菜之前，一般先要份菜单：
May I have a menu, please? 我可以看菜单吗？
2如果不急于点菜，可以在服务生问到：
Can I take your order now? 你现在叫点什么吗？
回答：Not quite. Could I have a few more minutes?不，我可以再多等会吗？
需要叫菜时，可以说：Please take my order. 请接受点菜。
3如果对当地的菜肴不熟悉，可以问：
What is the specialty of the restaurant?这家店的招牌餐是什么？
Do you have any special meals today?今天有什么特餐吗？
What would you recommend I prefer something light.我想来点清淡些的，你能推荐什么吗？
4也可以让同来的人替你作主，或是点重复的饭菜：
I'll leave it to you. 我让你来点。
I'll have the same as that one. 我要一份和那个一样的。

5自己点菜可以更随意些
例如：
A：Could you tell me how this thing is cooked? 能否告诉我这道菜是怎么做的？(cook的几个需要区别的地方)
B：Lobster? It's steamed and served with our special sauce. 龙虾？蒸过后加上本店特制的调味料。
A：Is it good? 好吃吗？或者Does it taste good ?
B：Sure. It's a most popular dish.当然，很受欢迎的。
A：I think I'll try some lobster, and give me some green salad together.我想我来点儿吧。再给我一份蔬菜沙拉。
B：We have three dressings for salad. Which one would you like ?我们有三种沙拉调味汁，您要哪种？
A：What kind do you have?你们有什么？
B：We have Italian, French and Thousand Island.有意大利，法国和千岛的。
A：Make it French please.给我法式的吧。
酒店预订的一些实用句子
1． I’ll take a look at the hotel’s booking situation．
我来查看一下本店房间的预订情况。

2．I’m glad that we’ll be able to accept your extension request．
很高兴我们有办法接受您延长住宿的要求。

3． But I’m afraid that it will be necessary for us to ask you to change rooms for the last two nights． 不过，恐怕最后两天我们得请您搬到别的房间去。

4． We have already let your room to another gentleman．
我们已经把您住的房间租给了另外一位先生。

5． That’s no problem at all．
没问题。

6．And here is your key，Mr．Bradley．Your room number is 1420．

Dialogue B
A：Good morning！Can I help you？

B：Good morning！ I’m Mr．Doug lass in room 1208． My business negotiation has progressed much more slowly than I had expected．This makes it necessary for me to stay on here for another day．I wonder if it is possible for me to extend my stay at this hotel for two days．

A： I’ll take a look at the hotel’s booking situation． Yes， sir，I’m glad that we’ll be able to accept your extension re－quest．
But I’m afraid that it will be necessary for us to ask you to change rooms for the last two nights．You see，we have already let your room to another gentle-man．Is that acceptable to you？

B： Yes， that’s no problem at all．
A： Let me see… room 1111 Will be vacant． How about room1111？

B：That is fine．

A：When would you like to move tomorrow？

B： I don’t know．

A：The new occupant will be checking in a little after twelve．

B： That means I have to move out before 12． Let me see． I’ll be leaving for the negotiation at 9∶30 tomorrow morning and I will not be returning to the hotel until sometime in the afternoon． So I’m going to have to do it before I go to the negotiation．Well，I think I will move at 9:00’clock．
