Some people believe that movies worth watching are those that teach us something about real life. Other people think that movies with a variety of themes, not just those with realistic themes, are worthwhile. I agree with the second opinion; films do not need to teach about real life to be worthy of attention.
Undoubtedly, realistic movies can teach us many lessons. In the movie Million Dollar Baby, for instance, the spirit of perseverance is deeply touching. The heroine struggles to be a boxer, pursuing a career traditionally regarded as being for men. She draws upon her own personality and beliefs to gain real-life success, overcoming conventional outlooks and becoming an unrivaled figure in the history of boxing. We learn about life’s contradictions, cruel realities, and the qualities needed to conquer difficulties from this kind of movie.
People who want to gain more understanding of real life will treat this kind of movie as worth watching. However, the reasons that people watch movies are complex. Different people want to obtain different feelings and benefits from movies. For example, for those who want to have a rest after a long day of tedious work , it is worthwhile to watch comical movies filled with funny characters and interesting plots. This type of person seeks fun from the movies, so the movies with easy and simple themes suit his or her tastes .
Other people like action movies. These movies create a true-to-life experience for viewers but include scenes that would never happen in real life. This type of person suffers from high pressure in daily work and life and can benefit a great deal from action movies. Action movies seem to bring the viewer to a new world free from serious trouble and repetitive tasks. For such viewers, action movies are certainly worth watching.
Although movies with realistic themes teach us lessons, a movie does not need to be realistic in order to be worthwhile. The definition of a worthwhile movie varies from person to person according to individuals’ needs. That is why I do not agree with the opinion that only those movies from which we can learn about real life are worth seeing.

Education plays an essential role in the development of a country. In the advancement of a society, the enhancement of educational quality is crucial. Some maintain that the most efficient method of improving education is to raise teachers’ salaries; others disagree with this opinion. I hold the view that teachers’ salaries are significant because teachers play the most important part in the process of education. Students’ knowledge of their subjects from primary school to university can be improved only if it is possible to motivate teachers.
High salaries satisfy teachers and inspire them in their work. A few days ago, in my hometown, teachers from a primary school went on strike, forcing students to gather on a bridge and creating trouble for traffic. The main cause of the strike was the low salaries teachers receive. Teachers have stated that their income is not high enough for them to afford the expenses of daily life. This example illustrates the importance of teachers’ salaries. Teachers, like all normal people, desire higher incomes.
Additionally, high salaries would motivate teachers to pay more attention to teaching. Money is the most efficient means of encouraging people to work hard and contribute to their organizations. With high salaries, teachers would see their work as more valuable and feel more passionate. Some high schools have inspired teachers to cultivate more excellent students by increasing teachers’ bonuses when students do well on an exam or receive awards in a specific field. In this way, all teachers can be motivated to try their best to foster outstanding students, which is the ultimate purpose of education.
Finally, we should never ignore the attraction of money for talented people. A job with a high salary will be desired by numerous people; higher salaries would mean more candidates for the position of teacher. For a high salary, highly qualified people would give up their present jobs to work as educators.
Only by increasing teachers’ salaries is it possible to improve education in a country. Money is the most powerful tool to inspire teachers’ passion.

Someone points that the most efficient method is to raise teachers’ salaries; however others disagree with the opinion. In my personal view, I hold the same idea with the former, because teachers are the important part in the process of education. The ability and knowledge of the education subjects, all students from primary school to university, are improved only if it is possible to motivate the passion of teachers.
Firstly, high salaries satisfy teachers, and make them concentrate on their own work. A few days ago, in my hometown, teachers from a primary school just strike, leaving classrooms, gathering in a bridge, making traffic in trouble. Without considering the qualification of these teachers, the main cause of the strike is the low salaries each month. They stated that their income can not afford the daily live. From the above example, we can see the importance of teachers’ salaries; they are also the normal people, so they desire high income as well. More gains, more concentration.
Secondly, high salaries will motivate them to pay more attention to teaching. Money is the most efficient factor to inspire people to work hard, and contribute more to the work. With high salaries, teachers will treat their work more valuable, and pay much passion to the process. It is a smart method for some high schools to inspire teachers to cultivate more excellent students, by increasing the bonus of teachers whose students do well in an exam or get a reward in a specific field. In this way, all teachers are motivated to try their best to foster outstanding students, which is the final purpose of education.
Finally, we can not ignore the attraction of money to talented person. The job with high salary is desired by numerous people, so more choices are available to hire a suitable person for the teacher position, such as graduates with wide range of knowledge, successful businesspeople with rich experience, and mechanics with outstanding skills, dancers or singers with a high reputation in the field, and even official with political right. For the high-paid salaries, some of them even give up the present job, and go in for teacher position. As the raise of teachers’ academic power, it is the time for education to go forward.
In conclusion, only do we increase teachers’ salaries, it is possible to improve the education in a country. Money is the most powerful tool to inspire teachers’ passion for education career.

It is true that a high-paying job allows people to gain more money to ensure a more comfortable and worry-free life. With a high income, people can buy delicious foods, live in good housing, purchase expensive commodities and afford high quality healthcare. Earning a high income also wins recognition, respect and admiration from others, which is why doctors and lawyers are among the most respected jobs in the world. However, personally I find these people not happy at all, if they have to sacrifice their leisure time for a high income. And I would rather do the contrary – to sacrifice a high salary just to be able to have more days off work so I can enjoy my vacation.
First of all, if people choose a less strenuous job with more vacation time, they can become physically healthier and emotionally happier. This kind of job means people have more spare time. They can have a good relaxing time on vocation, which is helpful to their health. On the holiday, they can do many exercises and play sports to reduce stress and release tension. When people have a lot of spare time, they can also enjoy more recreation and amusement, which are the elements of a happy life. In contrast, those people who have high a salary but less vacation time often focus too much on their work. As a result, they ignore their physical and mental health, and may be overwhelmed by pressure.
What’s more, the relationship between a person and his/her family members will be much improved if he/she chooses a job with more vacation time because he/she has more time to stay with family members and join in family activities such as picnicking and camping. Consequently, he/she has more connection with family members, and this will prevent many problems usually found in families with a lack of communication. This is also true with relationship among friends. By comparison, those who have high-salary jobs often find themselves so busy coping with projects, sales targets, meetings, business travels, so on and so forth, that they cannot spare even one day for a friends gathering or a family trip. This is something I definitely would not want.
By comparing these two types of working conditions, one would easily see which is better. Of course there are always a few people in the world who are workaholic, or who are skillful enough to find an excellent balance between life and work. But I have to admit that I am not such type of person. If I had to choose between the two, I would have to sacrifice salary for personal time.

Some people contend that it is a bad idea to move to a new place because those who relocate lose their current friends. I strongly disagree with this statement for several reasons.
People who move to new locations do not need to lose their friends, as they can take advantage of technologies in most countries to keep in touch. People can use numerous means of making contact, including telephone, e-mail, and online chat software. These technologies easily allow one to maintain relationships. For example, my family moved from Hengyang to Changsha several years ago due to my parents’ work assignment. Since our move, I have preserved my relationships with my old friends in Hengyang by chatting online; we even see each other often through video conferencing. In addition, as the transportation system has expanded quickly, it is very convenient for me to take trips to visit my old friends now and then.
Furthermore, moving to new places broadens people’s horizons, supporting their personal development. By traveling internationally, one can gain a better understanding of various customs, histories, religions, and cultures. With a broad view, people become more optimistic and active. My uncle, for example, used to be very shy and unsure of his purpose when he was young; he became much more confident and positive after he finished his undergraduate program abroad. He has always said that his four years of campus life abroad changed his way of looking at life.
Though technologies allow people to connect with old friends at a distance, they do have some disadvantages. For instance, when friends who live in different cities cannot communicate face to face, they may have unnecessary misunderstandings and disagreements. Despite these challenges I insist that it is not bad to move to other places, given the enormous benefits that relocating can bring.
In conclusion, people who move to new cities and countries should not worry about losing their friends, as technological advancements can secure their relationships and moving can offer them great benefits.

What is the primary purpose of movies and television? In my view, movies and television programs do not serve strictly educational functions; therefore, they do not always need to show good people being rewarded and bad people being punished.
I concede that movies and television programs have educational effects for teenagers. Teenagers do not have enough capacity to distinguish good from bad, and they are often enthusiastic about imitating characters in television or movies. Educational films teach teenagers how to behave properly, whereas programs filled with violence can make teenagers behave aggressively. For example, a movie called The Guilty, which tells the story of gangs, was popular fifty years ago in Hong Kong. The rate of juvenile delinquency soared at the time because teenagers imitated the gang members in the movie. In contrast, suitable movies help teenagers to develop good conduct.
However, movies and television serve more than an educational function for their audience. Some movies just satirize society. A movie called The Bullet, for instance, depicts a corrupt and incompetent government. Increasing numbers of people are weary of platitudes and are eager to watch novel and distinctive programs. When viewers are able to predict the entire plot at the beginning of the movie, they may feel bored and may wish to stop watching the hackneyed film.
