1) Yesterday I paid a visit to a model high school, together with my friend. It’s very big with a beautiful fountain in the center of the schoolyard. We started our visit from the main building. First we went to the lab building where some students were doing experiments. Then we entered the lecture hall behind the lab building and saw many students listening to a lecture given by a professor. Opposite to the lecture hall was the art center. There we watched groups of students playing musical instruments. Finally we arrived at the playground at the far back of the school. Some boys were having a football game, which was so exciting that we couldn’t help cheering for them. It was really an impressive visit.
2) When I was young, I often wondered why my dad loved drinking so much. I thought it must be interesting and exciting to get drunk. One day , I stole a bottle of whiskey from my dad and invited my friend Xiaoming to go for an outing. We cycled about 5 miles away to drink it in one of our favorite places. When we finished drinking it, we couldn’t cycle back. .We felt so dizzy that everything became dim in front of us . It was such a long , slow walk to go back home. I had a bad headache and looked awful. From then on, I never touch wine any more. It was a really funny experience in my life.
3）Last Sunday my friend, Lin Tao, and I went to the bookstore. At a counter we noticed a foreigner was asking a man for help, but the man didn’t know a word of English. So we went up to him and offered help. After knowing what he really wanted, we took him to the counter where tapes and disks of Chinese folk music are sold and gave him some advice on which to choose. With our help, the foreign guest got some music tapes. He gave his hearty thanks to us and left. Though it took us some time to help him, we were happy anyway.

My first job was at a cramming school. It was three years ago when I just graduated from junior high school and finished the entrance examination. Since I had nothing to do that summer, I decided to find a job, tasting the joy of independence.
I was responsible for answering the telephone and taking the message. I worked eight hours a day, six days a week. The work was not difficult nor heavy to me and I guess I did well. The most delighted thing was perhaps that I could spend the money I earned all by myself.
4）The Job I Like我最喜欢的工作
I like to be a teacher. Three reasons have led me to choose this occupation. First, teaching is learning. To make my lectures more vivid and stimulating, I have to read more books, explore new knowledge and gain a better understanding of the world, which is the very thing I enjoy in my life. My father is the man I respect most. Stern as he may be, he never fails to show his care and consideration. Once I broke a neighbor's window. Seeing nobody around, I ran away immediately. When Dad came home, he noticed my uneasiness and asked me what had happened. I could only tell him the truth. Rather than scold me, he praised my honesty and then encouraged me to apologize to our neighbor.
