Lesson 6 Diving “Dream Team”
教学目标：1. 了解有关奥运比赛中有关跳水项目的历史
2. 认识我国跳水运动员伏明霞及其他跳水队员
3. 口语介绍一位你觉得最棒的跳水队员
教学重点：1. New words and phrases of the text .
2. Write a report on the four women who have won both gold medals in diving.
3. Ask your students to recite the text.
教学难点：1. Explain some prepositions to the class.
2. Know about word-building —compound-word.
3. Try using the expression of the text.
4. Change some verbs into nouns. dive – diver run- runner …….
教学情景导入：
Look at the basketball. Who likes playing basketball? I know Xiao Ming does. Do you know the U.S. has a “Dream Team”? China has a “Dream Team” in Diving.
教学过程设计：
Step 1. Let us begin to understand the 2008 Olympic Games logo and mascots.
Step 2. Discuss the questions in the “Think About It!”
What is a “Dream Team”?
Is there a Dream Team in basketball? What about diving?
Who are the best-known members of China’s Olympic diving team?
Step 3. Look at the picture to know about a “Dream Team” in basketball.
Step 4. Let’s meet a Chinese diver named Fu Mingxia through the picture.
Step 5. In order to understand how to dive and the kinds of dive, watch these three pictures.
Step 6. Learning the new words of the text. Make the students study hard using some methods.

【注意】
one of 后的名词用复数，形容词用最高级。如：
Changjiang River is one of the longest rivers in China. 长江是中国最长的河流之一。
English is one of the most popular subjects. 英语是最受欢迎的科目之一。
3. She was the first woman in 36 years to win both events.她是36年中获得两项金牌的唯一女子。
both adj.& pron. adj.两，双
both后只接名词，不接代词。若名词前有定冠词、指示代词货物主代词，both要放在他们的前面。如：
I want both books. 这两本书我都要。 I want both the books. 这两本书我都想要。
I want both his books.他的这两本书我都想要。
pron.俩，两人，双方
both of后若接名词，则名词前一定要有定冠词、指示代词货物主代词；若接人称代词，则一定为宾格。both用作句子的同位语时，谓语若为动词，则both放在谓语动词之前；若位于中有连系动词be或情态动词时，both放在或第一个助动词或情态动词之后。

Step 11. Divide the class into small groups to make a chart of the achievements of China’s diving “Dream Team”, using the information from the reading.
