Unit 4 I want to be an actor

Good afternoon, everyone! Now I will say something about Unit 4 I want to be an actor Period 1（1a-1c）.It’s selected from Go for it! English Book2 of Grade seven.The topic of this unit is: I want to be an actor . I’d like to talk about my lesson from the following parts.
Part I Analysis of the teaching material
1. Function and status of this lesson.
The teaching material is the basic tool for teachers. As teachers, the most important thing we should know is what to teach, so we should master the spirit of the teaching material. The topic of this lesson is about jobs and professions. Ss will learn to talk about their own jobs and other people’s jobs, such as their parents’. Such topic is closely related to students’ daily life, so it’s helpful to raise learning interest of students and improve their spoken English.

2. Teaching aims and Demands
(1) Knowledge goals :
Key vocabulary: shop assistant doctor reporter policeman waiter bank clerk hospital
Target language: What does he/she do?Where does he/she work?
(2) Ability goals: Train students’listening and speaking skills.
Train students' communicative competence using key vocabulary and target language.
(3) Emotion goals: Study hard and try to be a useful man in the future.
Everyone has his own ideal jobs.
3.Teaching key points and difficult points
Teaching key points:The names of jobs and professions.
How to ask jobs and professions.
Teaching difficult points
Students can communicate with others using the key vocabulary and the target language learned in this class in everyday situations.
(4)How to deal with the teaching material
While dealing with the material, we pay all attention to how to talk about the topic all the time. We obey the principles of arousing the students' interests, encouraging the students to take part in, learning by themselves and learning in order to communicate.
Part 2 Analysis of the teaching methods
We know what to teach in Part 1, now let’s see how to teach. How to teach can make the Ss understand easily and smoothly, and how to teach can give the Ss a deep impression, and how to teach can have the Ss feel they are learner—centered. So my design concepts are :learner—centered teaching, the communicative teaching and the task—based language teaching. In this lesson, I adopt the ways of looking and saying, asking and answering, pairwork and groupwork , chant , playing guessing games and survey. Especially the guessing games, I think it can attract the Ss to watch with their eyes, to think with their brains, and to say with their mouths. Interest is the best teacher, they must be very interested in the guessing games. It is a good way to help the Ss to remember the new words and the target languages.
Part 3 Analysis of the students
After learning Go for it for half a year, the students now can use what they have learnt to express their ideas in a correct way. They are wise, active and brave enough to express themselves. When we guide the students, encourage them to get over shyness and nervousness, open mouths to speak and take an active part in the activities. Tell them we learn the language in order to use, guide them to use while learning, and use after they learn it.
Part 4 Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up
Have the daily greetings with the Ss. Try to make the Ss feel relaxed.
Step 2 Presentation ( 1a,1b and 1c)
1.Review the new words(show some pictures,ask Ss guess .let them recognize the words and remember them in the heart)

2.Then ask Ss to have a game .guessing game ,(in order to the picture say the jods quickly)
3.Do 1a .ask Ss check the answer in the group.
4.practice the conversation like this.
What does she do? She is a reporter.(look at the picture and answer it )
What does he do? He is a doctor.
What do they do? They are shop assistants.
Step 3. practice in the group .
Step 4. ask some groups to Presentation.
Step 5.make a survey.
What does your father/mother/aunt/brother/sister/uncle... Do?
Give a report.
Step6 Chant

The words are so many in this class.so in the spare time the Ss should remember the word in their heart. The sentence is simple.Ss learnt very well.the chant is interesting,the Ss sing it happliy.
