Step4. Listen and colour
a. Introduce the listening tips.
T: First, be quiet. Second, listen Toby’s school things and colour. Then, tick it with your colour pens.
b. Listen and use colour pens to tick the school things.

教学目标：
通过图片以及地图，学生了解China, US, UK的方位以及Beijing, Washington DC, London在各个国家的方位。理解north, capital的含义，并能用… is the capital of …， … are the most popular/ famous. … are great fun to visit. … is home to the famous … The city is full of history and culture. You can feel the history and culture here. 描述城市。

教学反思：
本课是Unit2 Big cities的第一个课时。这节课主要是了解China, US, UK的首都Beijing, Washington DC, London以及每个城市的著名建筑，并能用所学的句子介绍自己了解的城市。
我将歌曲视频“A for the world”作为导入，激发学生对了解世界国家的兴趣和热情，也为本课任务的开展做铺垫。然后让学生看一看、说一说几个重要的国家和大城市，引出课题。
在呈现环节，我创设了这样一个情境：今天我是导游，会带大家去游览三个大城市。初听全文，找到北京、伦敦、华盛顿特区分别是哪个国家的首都。
以任务型教学法展开教学，再读文本。
通过图片以及地图的展示，学生了解China, US, UK的地理位置，知道Beijing, Washington DC, London是这三个国家中的首都，并能用句子准确描述。例如：Beijing is the capital of China.
通过看指南针，在理解方位north, south, east, west之后, 学生能够看地图说出某个城市的方位，例如，Beijing is in the north of China.
通过图片、文字简介及影视片段，学生了解三个城市的著名建筑：the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, the White House, the Smithsonian Castle。学生能听懂词语，指认相应图片，并能表达自己的看法，例如，The Great wall is the most popular. The London Eye is great fun to visit. Washington DC is home to the White House.
除此之外，通过老师的补充介绍，学生还要了解这些著名景点的历史、地位和作用。让学生知道这些景点很著名是因为它们的历史价值。从而让学生感知The city is full of history and culture. You can feel the history and culture here.
在这个环节，我认为还可以改进的地方是：将学生“读”的这部分采取多样的形式，例如分小组读、男女生读。
在练习环节，从地理位置、天气、历史文化这几个方面入手，以Beijing为例，我指导学生如何完成一篇旅游攻略。
最后，通过小组活动检测学生的语言输出，从地理位置、天气、历史文化这几个方面入手，从北京、伦敦、华盛顿特区这三个城市中选择一个自己喜欢的城市，共同完成一份旅游攻略。学生上台展示他们的作品，介绍他们完成的这份旅游攻略的内容。
在这个环节，我认为还可以改进的地方是：老师只给出关键词提示，例如：Peking duck。让学生自己试着说一说Peking duck is the most popular.这样的句子。多给学生展示的空间。

【学情分析】
本课内容是六年级新编教材Unit3 Festivals 第二部分，即感恩节的起源故事。本单元围绕节日来展开，介绍了感恩节、万圣节的缘由、习俗活动和意义。本课学习之前，学生已经了解Mid-Autumn Festival 和Thanksgiving两个节日，会运用所学句型表达节日的国家、时间、食物、风俗活动等相关内容；他们对中西方传统的节日都有着浓厚的兴趣，愿意去学习去了解英语国家富有特色的节日并能够尝试运用英语来表达自己喜欢的节日。本课旨在通过学习Thanksgiving的历史由来，让学生感受感恩节背后的文化魅力，继续培养学生的跨文化意识。
【教学目标】
知识与技能：
1理解Mayflower、Native Americans、build、wild、hunt for、plant、invite 的含义。
