雅思口语Part2范文节选.docx

、雅思口语Part 2范文 人物类: Describe a good parent you know. You should say: Ÿ Who the parent is Ÿ How you know the parent Ÿ What the parent looks like Ÿ And explain why you think the parent is good. Ok right then, well the parent I'd like to talk about is the mother of a good friend of mine, an

、d the reason for choosing to talk about her is that my friend is always going on about how lucky he is to have such a nice mum. And from what I know about her, I'd say he's absolutely right! Anyway, as for how I know her, well it's basically due to the fact that I went to the same middle school a

、s her son. And because we became pretty good friends, we ended up seeing quite a lot of each other's parents, especially during the holidays when we often went over to each other's homes. And regarding what his mother looks like, well interestingly enough, she actually looks pretty similar to my

、own mother, because they both have quite round faces and long wavy hair. Having said that though, I've noticed that my friend's mother often ties her hair up in a bun, whereas my mother usually always keeps it down. And another thing to mention would be that whenever I see her, she always seems to b

、e wearing red clothes of some sort, which I guess is probably because red suits her quite well. But anyway, finally then, with regard to why I think she's a good parent, well I'd say there are quite a few reasons, one of which would be that she's always been fully supportive to her son. And just

、to give you an example, when he was deciding what major to study at university, he ended up choosing music. And his mother gave him her full support, which is probably not what many other parents would have done, as music doesn't really leave open a lot of career choices, if you know what I mean!

、 And I think it's fair to say that nowadays, a lot of parents persuade their children to do things which they think are best for them, but my friend has said that his parents have never been like this with him, especially his mother. So I kind of get the impression that she's never forced him to do

、anything against his will, and has always let him make his own decisions, which I think is really great. Notes: always going on about = always saying end up doing sth. = 最终做某事 interestingly enough = 说来有趣 Having said that though = 不过话说回来 of some sort = 某种 just to give you an example = for ex

、ample be fully supportive = gave sb. one’s full support 全力支持 leave open a lot of career choices = 好就业 I think it's fair to say that = I think it's true to say that...... = 我觉得可以说...... So I kind of get the impression that = I get the feeling that...... = 我有点感觉到...... against one’s will = 违背意愿,不

、得已 Describe a polite person you know. You should say: Ÿ Who the person is Ÿ How you know the person Ÿ What the person looks like Ÿ And explain why you think the person is polite. Ok, right then, well the person I'd like to talk to you about is a very good friend of mine called Matthew, the

、reason being that he must be one of the nicest and most polite people I know, which I'll come to explain in a moment. But firstly, as for how I know him, well we've basically known each other since middle school, because we were in the same class together, and we still touch base quite a lot with

、 each other. You know, if I feel like going out and doing something, I normally give him a call and see if he's free to meet up. And moving on to why I think he's so polite, well it's basically because he's just got really good manners. And just to give you an example, he always says thank you to

、 people, even for the slightest thing. For instance, I've noticed that whenever we're eating at a restaurant, he will thank the waiters and waitresses every time they bring a dish to the table. And another example would be that whenever he gets off a taxi, he will always say thank you to the driver,

、 which a lot of people probably think isn't necessary, but I'm sure the bus drivers really appreciate it, as do the waiters and waitresses, because it's not all that often they hear people thanking them! So yeah, that's basically why I'd say he's such a polite person, and I'm just trying to think

、 if there's anything more to add, um … oh yeah, and one other thing to mention would be that he's always very complimentary to people. So what I mean is that he tends to always say nice things to people, for example he might make a comment about how nice someone's looking, or how good their cooking

、is, which I know might be seen as being a bit um … what's the word … um … insincere, but I think he genuinely means what he says, at least most of the time anyway! And I mean, I can't remember a single time when he's ever been unpleasant or rude to anyone, and I also can't really imagine him bein

、g nasty to anyone either. Notes: the reason being that = because 因为 …which I'll come to explain in a moment = …我待一会儿就解释 he's got really good manners = he’s really polite 他很有礼貌 touch base = keep in touch 保持联系 feel like doing sth. = want to do sth. 想要做某事 meet up = 见个面 just to give you an exa

、mple = for example 给你举个例子吧 (this is a set-phrase which is used a lot in English, and is normally used for when the example is quite long) even for the slightest thing = 即便是最微不足道的事 not all that often = 不是那么经常 I'm just trying to think if there's anything more to add = 我在想还有没有什么可以补充的 he's always ve

、ry complimentary to people = 他总是对人很恭维 he tends to always = 他一般总 might be seen (by some) as being = 可能会被别人看作是 means what he says = 言而由衷 at least most of the time anyway = 反正大多数时候是这样 (this is a useful structure: at least……anyway) what's the word = 哪个单词怎么说?!(卡住的时候,可以用这句自言自语的话you can use this phras

、e when you are trying to think of what word to use. It's best to try and keep talking, even when you are thinking!) Describe a person you know who has an important job. You should say: Ÿ Who the person is Ÿ Where the person works Ÿ What the person does in the job Ÿ And explain why you think th

、e person's job is important. Ok, well it was actually quite difficult choosing who to talk about, because I mean if you think about it, everyone's job is important in some way or other. But in the end I've decided to talk about an uncle of mine who's a doctor. And I apologise if you've already he

、ard a lot of other examinees talking about doctors, but hopefully I can give you a few more insights into the job, based on what I know from my uncle. So first of all, as for what he actually does in his job, well I've never really asked him the specifics of what he gets up to every day, but in a

、 nutshell, he spends most of his time treating patients, which involves firstly finding out what's wrong with them, and then helping cure them of whatever pain or illness they have. So normally, after examining a patient and listening to what they have to say, my uncle will then give them a prescrip

、tion for suitable medicine to take, which he told me is extremely difficult to get right every time, even after having over 20 years of experience, due to the fact that the human body is just so complex. And even though my uncle specializes in skin disorders, there are still countless different kind

、s of various infections and conditions, so it's not easy at all to give a one hundred percent accurate diagnosis every time, as I'm sure you can understand! But anyway, regarding why his job is important, well I think it goes without saying that doctors are extremely important! I mean, if we didn

、't have them, most of us wouldn't have a clue how to make ourselves better, and so we wouldn't be able to get rid of a lot of illnesses we might have. Of course, for small ailments it wouldn't be too big a problem, but if you were to come down with something serious, then you would be in quite a bit

、 of trouble if there weren't any doctors around to help you! So yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that they're an essential part of our society, and I'm really grateful to doctors like my uncle who have devoted so much of their time and effort into helping people get rid of their pains and il

、lnesses, and thereby helping them lead happier and comfier lives. Notes: what he gets up to every day = what he does every day in a nutshell = in short 简言之 countless different kinds of various = 多种多样 it goes without saying that = 不言而喻 come down with = 得病 quite a bit of = a lot of 很多 it's p

、retty safe to say that = 可以肯定地说 地点类: Describe a cafe that you know in your hometown. You should say: Ÿ Where it is Ÿ How often you go there Ÿ Who you usually go there with Ÿ What kind of food they serve there (or, what service they provide) Ÿ And explain why you like to eat at this place

、 Ok right then, well the cafe that I'd like to talk to you about is one called Maya Cafe, which is somewhere on the outskirts of the city, just a few minutes' walk from where I live. And as for how often I go there, well I actually go there quite a lot, probably something like once or twice a w

、eek. Having said that though, it really kind of depends on how busy I am. I mean, there are times when I don't go for weeks on end because I'm simply too busy with stuff, but normally that's not the case, and I'm there pretty regularly, as I just mentioned. Anyway, regarding what kind of things t

、hey serve there, well it's great, because they've got a really good selection of both Chinese and Western food, so there's a lot to choose from. And in terms of drinks, there's also quite a lot on the menu, especially coffee, which you can probably imagine, what with it being a cafe and all. And I t

、end to normally always go for the Chai Latte, cos I think they do it really well, and so I've never really felt the need to try any of the other drinks on the menu. But anyway, finally then, moving on to why I like this place so much, well I'd say it's a combination of reasons, one of which would

、 be that it's really big and spacious, at least compared to most of the other cafes I've been to, so you never have to worry about not finding a place to sit. Although having said that, it can sometimes get pretty busy in the evenings, so I usually tend to go in the morning or afternoon. Anyway, ano

、ther thing to mention would be that the food and drinks there are pretty good-value. Because I mean, most of the Western food there only costs between about 30 to 50 Yuan, which is a lot cheaper than most of the other Western restaurants in the city. And the price of the coffee there is round about

、the same price as Starbuck's, which some people might see as expensive, but considering the fact that you're paying for the environment as well as the drink, I'd say it's definitely worth it. Oh and the other thing I really like about it is that you can spend as much time as you want relaxing the

、re, without being bothered by the waiters. And the chairs there are nice and comfy, so it's actually very easy to spend half the day there using the free wifi or doing whatever. Notes: on the outskirts of the city = outside the city 在市郊 something like = about 大概 Having said that though = Altho

、ugh having said that = 不过话说回来 on end = 持续地 normally that's not the case = 一般不是这个样子 go for = choose 选择 in terms of = 关于,在…方面 what with it being a cafe and all = 毕竟是个咖啡店 round about the same price = 差不多一样价格 considering the fact that = 考虑到 Oh and = 啊对了,…… nice and comfy = 很舒服 (如果你对某个事情很满意的话,这个

、形容词前面可以加一个”nice and..." for example, "the weather's nice and sunny today" / "my bedroom is nice and bright" / "the library is nice and quiet") Describe a time you went to a place crowded with people. You should say Ÿ Where it was Ÿ When you went there Ÿ What you did there Ÿ And explain why

、 you went there / how you felt about the crowded place. Ok, well the first place that came to mind when I saw this topic was the Beijing Metro, because I remember it being unbelievably crowded, so that's what I'm gonna talk to you about. And as for when I went there, well it was actually pretty

、recently, which I suppose was probably only about two or three weeks ago, so it's still pretty fresh in my memory. And regarding what I was doing there, well basically, I was on my way to see a friend who lives in Beijing, and she had told me that by far the best way to get around the city was us

、ing the subway, simply because the roads were so congested. So I took her advice, but it was a huge shock when I actually got into the subway station and saw just how many people there were. I mean, I knew that there would be a lot of people, but I never expected to see that many! Although lookin

、g back on it now, I suppose what made it worse was the fact that I was travelling during rush hour, so it was a lot more crowded than I'm sure it would have been during off-peak times. And when I saw how packed the train was when it was pulling into the station, I remember thinking there was no way

、I was going to be able to get on. But I was in a bit of a hurry, coz I was actually already running late, so I had no choice really but to join the huge queue of people waiting. Anyway, I did somehow manage to make it onto the train, but I was pressed up against people on all sides, so it was pretty

、 uncomfortable to say the least! I mean, it was absolutely heaving, and I literally couldn't move at all! crowded = packed = heaving 拥挤的 Thankfully though, I didn't have too far to travel, coz if I remember correctly, I was only on the train for about 4 stops. And when I finally got off, I reme

、mber feeling incredibly relieved, and also very grateful that I didn't have to go through the same experience every day. Notes: it's still pretty fresh in my memory = I can still remember it pretty clearly 记忆犹新 the roads were so congested = 道路拥堵 it was a huge shock = 大吃一惊 what made it worse w

、as the fact that = 雪上加霜的是 already running late = 已经晚了 make it = 做到,办成 to say the least = 至少说来;最起码 it was absolutely heaving = 挤死人了! Thankfully though = 不过还好 go through = 经受,遭受(尤为艰难时期) 物品类: Describe another language (not English) that you would like to learn. You should say: Ÿ What lang

、uage it would be Ÿ How you would learn it Ÿ What equipment or facilities you would need to study this language Ÿ And explain what difficulties you think you would have / why you would choose this language. Ok right then, well there are actually quite a few languages that I would like to learn,

、 but probably the one I'd like to learn most is French, partly because it sounds quite nice, and also because France is a country that I'd really love to visit sometime. Thus if I were able to speak French, I would then be able to converse with the locals, which would give me a much better understan

、ding of the country and also make my time there a lot more interesting and enjoyable. Anyway, as for how I would learn it, well I guess first of all I would try and find a decent self-study course on the Internet. And as well as that, I suppose another thing I would do would be to look for a teache
