It was graduation day at the university where I work and a beautiful day quite unlike the first graduation I attended as a young professor．On that cold day years ago, as we watched the students walking into the hall, one of my colleagues turned to me and said, "Graduation will be one of the happiest and one of the saddest time of your life．" At my inquiry, he answered, "Because the students you have gotten to know have to leave．"

Band Camp
No matter what you play –or your level of playing –you can learn to play better! At the camp , you’ll learn more about music and performance skills.Group lesson topics include performance techniques,
Warm-up exercises and related activities .The bands will present a concert at 6:30 pm.on Friday, June 13th in Breedlove Auditorium. All students are required to participate in the concert. .You will also take special master classes in music technology.
Who are the teachers?
All the teachers have worked with young musicians just like you. They are some of the best local ban directors and studio musicians.You’ll also work with UA Fort Smith music professors, Don Bailey, Charles Booker, and Prissy Buchanan.
Am I eliginle(符合条件的)to attend?
If you are a band student who is finishing grade 6,7,or 8 this spring , and have played your instrument at least one school year , you can attend.! ---especially with parent and band director’s signature.
Where and when is the band camp?
The camp is in the Breedlove Building at UA Fort Smith, where all music classes at the college are held. Each camp is from 9 am to 3:30 pm. You can have someone drop you off at 8:30 am.
