Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I’m very happy to stand here. Today I’m talking about PEP book 7 Unit 4 I have a pen pal .I will describe it with following parts.
Teaching Materials
The main topic of units is “ I have a pen pal” .This period is the second period of unit4. The main duty of this period is to lead into the sentence “What are Zhang Peng’s hobbies?” and five verbs studies about hobbies.
Analysis of the students
The sixth students have already mastered certain of words and sentences. They can control themselves better so as to learn actively. Besides, they long to demonstrate themselves.Our students have already known some vehicles in the daily life. It’s not difficult for them to understand and use these words .
Teaching aims:
Knowledge objects:
To enable the students to understand and speak five phrases and two sentence patterns:
To be able to describe someone’s hobbies more freely.
Ability objects
To develop the Ss’speaking and vocabulary .
Emotion objects
To encourage the students have useful hobbies.
To encourage the students cooperation amongst in their studies.
The most important aims in this lesson is learn the phrases and sentences. I think the difficulty point of this period is to pronounce “ ing ” accurately.
Teaching method and learning mothods
I insist on the development of students we must pay attention on the cultivation of students autonomy initiative, independence and creativity.In classroom teaching by use of piatures,slides ,animation,video clips direct current teaching means, through the teaching methods of task based teaching method, group cpmpetition mehtods,game teaching method, situational teaching method ,guide Ss to sing ,play games to achieve the pre teaching aims.
To accomplish the aims ,I design the following steps;
Step 1 Warm up
Aspect of this design is using songs and conversations for students to create a relaxed learning atmosphere.
Step 2
Ask and ansewer to review the words and sentences about their abilities on the weekends.
Step 3
Through show Cai in the scene, attract the students' interest, use of multimedia courseware, originally boring content is no longer boring, interspersed with words teaching to enable students to achieve mastery through a comprehensive study of the subject. ,
Look at the magic house.Help the animals say setences: I often sing. I like singing.
After presentating the new words, the students need some activities to practice them. Students greatly welcome games. They can create a cheerful and light-hearted environment and arouse students’ interest in learning English.（What’s missing and What are they ）
To present the key structures one by one is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. Proper competition can arouse the Ss' interest in English learning.
Step4 Parctise
First I ask Ss to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks, then read in pairs.
Next I ask students to Interview the othes about their hobbiesm,then make a reporter.
Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.Then make a show group by group.
Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss' ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.
Step5 Summary
Summary the new phrases and sentence patterns. Find the winner and give them encoutagement.
Step6 Homework
Write the new phrases .
Recite the text.
Due to the students 'age, I make every students work in class through many activities in order to stimulate the students' interest and provide they a wide thinking room. That’s all, thank you for listening.
