English can be a difficult language to learn, but there are certain things you can do to learn the language a lot faster. Here we will show you how to quickly learn to speak English.
Start by taking a class that teaches English for beginners. These classes are commonly referred to as “ESL”classes, or “English as a Second Language”. The teachers of these classes have the experience to teach a variety of students.
Buy an English audio or DVD course. You can review these classes in your spare time and learn quite a bit. However, if you are serious about wanting to learn English faster, then you will want to review the course at every opportunity you have. Buy an audio course and listen to it in the car or while walking, if possible. The higher the quality of the course is, the faster you'll learn.
Practice speaking English with native English speakers. Make friends with people who do not speak your native language and are willing to help you learn English by having simple conversations with you. You will be surprised at how quickly you can start having entire conversations in English.
Watch television shows or movies that are in English and with no subtitles (字幕) in your native language. Pay attention to the dialogue and try to figure out what the actors are saying. Congratulate yourself when you are able to pick out certain words and phrases that you understand.
Read newspapers, books and magazines that are printed in English. At first they won't make much sense, but as your knowledge grows, so will your understanding of written English. Understanding written English will surely help you in learning to speak the language much faster.

In Britain, it's bottoms up from the week before Christmas till the last firework explodes in the sky announcing the new year. The last Friday before Christmas popularly known as “Mad Friday” — is one of the busiest periods for the country's pubs and clubs.
But it's not just the bars that get busy. Ambulances and A&E departments around Britain get packed out too. Head injuries, cuts, falls ... it's easy to end up hurting yourself or others when self­control disappear and your head is spinning due to alcohol. Revelers (纵酒狂欢的人) have been warned by the health authorities about the dangers of deadly drinking but drinking crazily seems to be part of the festivities for some.
The charity Alcohol Concern is running a campaign of restriction by encouraging people to have a dry January.
Jackie Ballard, the charity's Chief Executive, believes the campaign has been successful in recent years. She says, “More than two­thirds of people even six months later are drinking at reduced levels having had a month off drink. But also a study has shown the impact it has on people's health reducing their blood pressure and blood sugar levels.”
The study by the University of Sussex followed up nearly 900 participants in Alcohol Concern's Dry January campaign and found out that 72% of them had kept harmful drinking sessions down and 4% were still not drinking.
Moderation (适度) seems to be the key to everything. The official recommendation for women is not to regularly drink more than 2 to 3 units of alcohol a day. The limit for men is 3 to 4 units of alcohol — no more than a pint of 5.2% ABV lager, beer or cider.

Jimmy always feared applying for a new job. One day, he gathered all his courage and finally decided to attend an interview. Dressed up in a neat white shirt and slacks (宽松的长裤), he went on his way.
