My soccer coach retired in last week. I wanted to do anything special for him at his retirement party. My mum makes the better biscuits in the world, so I decide to ask her for help. Mum taught me some basic step of baking. I insisted on doing most of the baking myself. I thought the biscuits were really well. My only mistake was that I dropped some on the floor after I was packing them up.
At a party, my coach, with a biscuit in his mouth, asked surprisingly who made them and joked, “I might have to retire again next year get some more of these biscuits.”
My favorite picture at the party is of my coach and me enjoy the biscuits with happy laughter!

In order to promote participation in outdoor exercise, our school had organized an activity to  climb the West Mountain on April 10. The moment we arrived at the foot of a mountain, we set out for the top in high spirit. We supported each other to pass the rocky areas on the course of the  climb. Laughing and cheering, we eventually reached the summit, there we were greeted by the bright  sunshine and fresh air. Viewing from the top, the city was extremely beautiful This event was very benefit, for not only we take a break from our heavy school workload, but we also learned what to cooperate. Therefore, we strongly suggest that similar events are held every year!

I just came back from Britain last week．I was luckily enough to be one of the students from different country to visit the UK from Feb．16 to 28．We paid a visit to a good many of places, like London, Oxford or the Lake District．I learned much about British culture and history in London, where was my favorite．I also liked Oxford, in which I saw much more old buildings．The Lake District was beautiful, but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there．The most excited thing for me in Britain was that I make a lot of friends there．

It is known to all that we students today have to fix our attention to our lessons, so we know few of society. A holiday is the best time and the best chance to make up for that. Take a part-time job is a good form of social practice. That we have learned in books and in class can’t have the same important effect us as what we have learned through personal practice. In social practice, we can surely make a progress in both knowledge or practical ability. Beside, when we take a part-time job, we may got paid more or less to help our family. Thus, I will say senior school students should take part-time jobs in their holidays, if possibly.

While playing near my home, I notice a turkey with its head under a rock. It looked stuck. My friends and I watched a while, but the bird couldn’t free it.
I ran home and told my mom, and we decided to call the bird rescue center. When the rescue workers arrived, she helped the bird out from under a rock. She checked to see that its wings were OK, or if it had any wounds or breaking bones. It was only being skinny from not eating. The worker said the turkey would be set freely if it fully recovered. If not, it would stay at the center. After leaving she thanked my mom and me for calling.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play a role of the heroine (女主角）in the play, what was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I was used to be quite afraid of speaking in public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great. In class, I am often the last one to stand up and answer question even if I may make some mistakes. No pains, no gains. Now I am always brave enough overcome the difficulty in front of me and have changed into a lively girl. So my experience shows that we should not be afraid of losing face and only in this way can they make progresses.

Recently, as the development of the Internet, there is a kind of language calling Web language. Some people even speak Chinese mixed with English letters. The other day our class had a discussion about if we should welcome the Web language.
Forty percent of the students think it ridiculous. They argue that it does no good help people communicate, nor is it useful for learning English. Besides, it’ll make Chinese more standard and pure, finally ruining our mother tongue. However, 60% of our class is fond of it. They think it is simple, convenience and helpful in expressing them. What’s more, it may make the language more interesting.
Personally, it’s not good habit to use the Web language. It may be popular, but you may also make yourself be misunderstood.
