2、or it, Book 2. My presentation consists of five parts: analysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students,teaching methods, guide of studying ways and teaching procedures. I. Analysis of the teaching material i)Status and function The topic of this unit is about personal abilities and cl
3、ubs. The first period serves as an introduction and a lead-in part. They will learn to talk about what they can do and what club thy what to join. The materials in talking are mostly from the real life and are familiar to students, so they are very interested in it. A series of questions and a big
4、 picture are used to attracts students’ attention. And listening and pairwork are also used in this period. ii) Teaching aims and demands 1. Knowledge Objects Ss have already mastered the new words and phrases, so in this lesson, they should use the verbs of activity such as sing, dance, swim .
5、 and verb phrases expressing abilities. 2. Ability Objects In this lesson, I’ll mainly train the Ss listening and speaking abilities and develop the Ss’ abilities of munication by learning the useful structures. 3. Moral Objects From this lesson, Let students experience the fun of learning En
6、glish through practice, and have the courage to show their talents,.Talk about each other's specialties and hobbies through group activities . Guide students to municate with others, learn from each other and help each other, then develop team spirit. 4.Teaching keys and difficulties According to
7、the teaching aims, I think the focus of this lesson isn't to teach the new expressions but to help the Ss to municate with each other. The difficulty is to help the Ss make conversations freely using the target language. 5.Teaching aids A tape recorder. II.Analysis of the students The Ss ha
8、ve learned English for nearly a year, they can express their thought and municate with each other with simple English well. And all the Ss will be interested in the topic, which is related to their real life. It’s helpful for our study of this lesson. III.Teaching methods In this lesson, I’ll main
9、ly use the cooperating teaching method, and it will be used in the whole lesson. I think it’s helpful to develop the Ss’ thought. I’ll also use “situation municating” method. It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss. I think good teaching methods are the keys to success. IV.Gu
10、ide of studying ways In order to guide the Ss better, develop the Ss’ abilities, in this lesson, the Sswill learn how to be a good language learner, and how to municate with others. It will be very helpful for their learning in the future. I think good studying ways can help the Ss to be good la
11、nguage learners. V.Teaching procedures Step1. Free talk First, talk about the word “play” with students and ask them what they like to do . Purpose of my designing: I think it is important to have a free talk with students, it can help them get relax before class. Step 2 Presentation 1. Talk
12、about the clubs in their school. —What clubs do you have in your school? —We have a/an_________ club. The teacher writes down the names of the clubs on the board. 2. The teacher talk about the clubs students want to join and what they can do with two or three students to give an example. The t
13、eacher writes down the things the students can do. —What club do you want to join? —I want to join the _________ club. —Can you ___________ ? —Yes, I can./No, I can’t. 3. Ask students to work in groups and add other abilities to these clubs. Purpose of my designing: This activity introduces so
14、me new vocabulary and provide oral practice using the target language. I think it is much easier for the Ss to learn if I present the key structures one by one and they can master the structures quickly by doing this. Step 3 Pairwork 1. Ask the students to talk about the clubs they want to join an
15、d the things they can do in pairs. ——What club do you want to join? ——I want to join the _________ club. ——Can you ___________ ? ——Yes, I can./No, I can’t. Invite some pairs to show their conversations . 2. Ask some pairs to talk about the clubs others want to join and the things they can do
16、in pairs. ——What club does he/she want to join? ——He/She wants to join the ________club. ——Can he/she ___________ ? ——Yes, he/she can./No, he/she can’t. Invite some pairs to show their conversations. Purpose of my designing: To provide situations to review learned knowledge for the next step l
17、istening and make sure the Ss can grasp the key words and phrases and learn to express their own opinion. Step 4 listening 1.Make sure the students understand the task in activity 1b, 2a and 2b,then ask them to spend two minutes reading the conversations and sentences to get ready for the listenin
18、g. 2. Play the recorder. 3. Ask the students to exchange their answers in groups, and make the different answers. Pay attention to the differences for next listening. 4. Play the recorder again 5. Check the answers by asking them to remend someone to answer the questions. Purpose of my design
19、ing: It gives Ss practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversations, and train them to cooperative and municate with others. Purpose of my designing: Revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they as in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive ex
