Unit 1 Dream homes
Comic strip and Welcome to the unit
Teaching Aims：
1. Learn some names of places of interest, cities and countries in the world.
2。 Arouse the students’ interests in the differences between countries.
Step 1。 Warming up
Show some well—known places of interest in China for the Ss to enjoy and let Ss know the phrase： place of interest：

Step 2. Presentation
1。 Show some pictures to learn some words about different places and teach some countries and their capitals。
Countries and Capitals:

2. Then read aloud the new words.

Step 3. Practise
Practise in pairs like this to talk about some places of interest to arouse the Ss’ interest in the topic in this unit。

Step 4。 Presentation
Present some pictures for Ss to learn some places of interest and the names of the countries and capitals。 Then ask Ss to complete Part A on Page 7。
Step 5. Practice
Talk about each picture, using Part B as a model.

2. Learn the spellings of the ordinal numbers with the help of the cardinal numbers。 Remind the Ss the rules of the word-building。

一、基数词用法
1. 基数词在表示数量时与表示编号、号码时的读法不一样.

读作：eighty—seven million three hundred thousand and five
电话号码：82772906
读作： eight two seven seven two nine zero six
2。 hundred, thousand， million 有不加‘s’和加‘s’两种情况：
I have two hundred books。 （ 不可加s）
我有二百本书。
I have hundreds of books. （必须加s）
我有数百本书.
二、序数词用法
1. 表日期：the fifth of June (=June the fifth) 6月5日
2. 表顺序或编号：
the second lesson （=Lesson Two）
3. 序数词常与the 连用,但以下两种情况不用the
(1） 作副词， 如：

When we pronounce words with more than one syllable， we stress one of the syllables。 The stressed syllable sounds stronger. The stress can be on the first, middle or last syllable of a word。
