It was very difficult to find a job in the northeast of England when John lost his. He found it impossible to get a new one and he had spent all his money. So he decided to go down to the south of the country, where it was said that things were better, and that it was easier to find a job. The best way to go was by train; so he went to the railway station and got into a train which was going to London. He was the only passenger in his carriage, when another man came in carrying a gun and said to him, “Your money or your life？”“I haven't got a penny，” John answered. “But why are you shaking so much？” the man with the gun asked angrily. “Because I thought you were the ticket collector, and I haven't even got a ticket，” answered John.

For the most part, you are probably only exposed to the music that is played on your favorite radio stations and TV shows, music Web sites, or the music that your friends and family members enjoy. Deep inside a mountain near Sweetwater in East Tennessee is a body of water known as the Lost Sea. It is listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest underground lake. The Lost Sea is part of an extensive and historic cave system called Graihead Caverns.
The Caverns have been known and used since the days of the Cherokee Indian nation. The Cave expands into a series of huge rooms from a small opening on the side of the mountain. One mile from the entrance, in a room called “The Council Room”， many Indian artistic facts have been found.
For many years it had been considered that there was a large underground lake somewhere in a cave, but it was not discovered until 1905. In that year, a 13­year­old boy named Ben Sands crawled into a small opening three hundred feet underground, and he found himself in a large cave half filled with water.
Today tourists visit the Lost Sea and ride far out in glass­bottomed boats. More than thirteen acres of water have been mapped out so far and still no end of the lake has been found. Even though teams of divers have tried to explore the Lost Sea, the full extent of it is still unknown.

Growing up, I wanted to be just like my mom. She was kind. People always seemed to feel comfortable in her presence. For years, she was a volunteer in our community. I loved going to the local nursing home with her where she taught a ceramic class.
On one summer day, Mama told me to get changed and meet her at the car.
I had planned to spend the day at the lake with friends. Why did she have to ruin everything? I imagined the cool lake water. Irritated, I climbed into the car and slammed the door shut. We sat in silence. I was too upset to make conversation.
“Tasha, would you like to know where we are going？” Mama asked calmly.
“No，” I said.
“We are going to volunteer at a children's shelter today. I have been there before and I think it would benefit you，” she explained.
When we reached the shelter, Mama rang the doorbell. Moments later, we were greeted by a woman. She led us to the front room where all of the children were playing. I noticed a baby whose body was scarred with iron marks. I was told it was because she wouldn't stop crying. The majority of the children had noticeable physical scars. Others hid their emotional wounds.
As I took in my surroundings, I felt a gentle tug on my shirt. I looked down to see a little girl looking up at me. “Hi. You want to play dolls with me？” she asked. I looked over at Mama for reinforcement. She smiled and nodded. I turned back and said, “Sure.” Her tiny hand reached up and held mine, as if to comfort me.
