（冀教版）三年级英语上册教案 Unit 2 Lesson 13 Black, white, brown Class Opening and Review GREETING SING THIS IS THE WAY WE WALK TO SCHOOL Play the audiotape if you wish to play it. Quickly review the actions for the song before the class sings it. DRILL Review colors the class knows with questions such as: Teacher: What colour is this/are they? (Point to or hold up objects.) Class: Its. /They are ____. Teacher: Is this ___or ___? Class: (Name a colour.) Teacher: Point to/Show me something ___. Class: (Point to the correct colour.) PLAY I SEE SOMETHING See the directions for this game in Games at the back of this guide. Use it to review the names of the colours the students have learned. To teach the chant, translate the phrase and demonstrate the rhythm: X X X X X ︳ I see some - thing _____. The audiotape has the chant at this point in the lesson, if you choose to use it. New Concepts 1. Black, white, brown. DEMONSTRATE Say the words for the colours as you hold up or point to things that are brown, black and white. You can also point to your colour poster. Use different phrases as you work. For example: This is ___ (name of colour). This colour is____. Its yellow. What colour is it? (Encourage the class to answer.) Teaching Tip Some student may have difficulty saying brown correctly. Show them that the /aJ/ sound in brown is the same as the sound for dumplings: jiaozi. STUDENT BOOK: L13 N1 Play the audiotape as the students follow in their student books. PLAY I SEE SOMETHING Divide the class into small groups of four to six players. Remind them to look at the colour poster remember the names of thecolours. Allow the groups enough time for everyone to take a turn. ACTIVITY BOOK: L13 N1 This exercise requires the students to colour pictures of markers brown, black and white. 2. In, on, under. DEMONSTRATE Place objects in, on and under other objects. Use objects the class can name in English. As you work repeat phrases and ask questions such as: The scissors/marker are/is in/on/under the chair/desk. The pencil/book is in/on/under the chair/desk. In/on/under the ___. Where is the ____? (Encourage the class to say In/on/under the ___.) Is the __ in/on/under the ___? (Encourage the class to say In/on/under the ___.) STUDENT BOOK: L13 N2, 3 Ask the class questions about the pictures as you point to them. For example, Where is the pencil? Where is the book? Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books. DRILL Use in, on and under with colours. For example, put a yellow marker on a book and a purple marker in a book for this question and answer: Teacher: Where is the yellow marker? Class: On the book. Repeat with other colours (red, green, blue, purple, pink, orange, brown, black, white, yellow), other positions (under, in) and other objects (such as chair, desk). PRACTICE IN PAIRS Ask the students to get out a book and their markers and to find a partner. Tell them to take turns practicing the vocabulary as follows: Student 1: (Place a marker in, on or under his or her book, chair or desk.) Where is the ___ marker? Student 2: In/On/Under the ___. ACTIVITY BOOK: L13 N2 Explain that the students draw a picture of something in, on, or under the desk following the directions. Teaching Tip The students have vocabulary cards that they can colour. Make colouring a learning activity. Call out different colours for the students to use or ask individual students to name colours for the calss to use on the cards. This provides a good opportunity to practice the direction Colour the __ (object) ___ (colour). 3. Oq, Rr, Ss, Tr. STUDENT BOOK: L13 N4 Review the letters the class already knows and introduce the next four letters: Qq, Rr, Ss and Tt. Point to the pictures in the student book as you say the letter and then the word it goes with. Emphasize the beginning sound of each word. Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books. ACTIVITY BOOK: L13 N3 Before the students try this writing exercise, demonstrate how to make the new letters on the blackboard and ask the students to follow you by writing in the air with their fingers. Class Closing PLAY WHISPER See the directions for this game in Games at the back of this guide. Use this game to practice in, on or under. For example, if you whisper on, the student stands or sits on some classroom object, such as a chair or desk. Then lead a question-and-answer drill as follows: Teacher: Where is __ (the students name)? Class: He/She is on the ___. If the students have trouble answering at first, answer your own question a few times.
