Given the accelerating variety and prevalence of intelligent machines, it is worth examining the implications and meaning

6、 of their presence in our lives. Perspective One Perspective Two Perspective Three What we lose with the replacement of people by machines is some part of our own humanity. Even our mundane daily encounters no longer require from us basic courtesy, respect, and tolerance for other people. Machi

7、nes are good at low-skills, repetitive jobs, and at high-speed, extremely precise jobs. In both cases they work better than humans. This efficiency leads to a more prosperous and progressive world for everyone. Intelligent machines challenge our long-standing ideas about what humans are or can be.

On account of the significance of the two factors mentioned above, it should not be overlooked that the cooperation of creativity and imitation as is pointed out in Perspective Three, and their influences on one another has been occupying the center stage of human social development

41、 since day one of technological creations when human race had but a smattering of scientific knowledge. We evolved from barbarians during the primitive age to civilized members of modern society by means of observation and imitation of beings in our surroundings, alive or still, and occasional strik

42、es of inspiration. Since time immemorial, humankind has harbored hopes of soaring high above the clouds and commanding the views of gorgeous scenery, and generations of people devoted their life to creating and improving aircrafts. The Wright brothers stood out among people left unnamed in historica
