Christmas Day, the 25th of December, is the biggest festival celebrated in the Christian countries of the world. It is a tradition to send cards to friends and family members at Christmas.
People saw the world’s first Christmas card in London in 1843 with a picture of a group of people. They were having a Christmas party. Later, cards with flowers, children and animals became popular. In 1874, Americans began to send cards to one another.
Today, technology and the need to save time and paper have changed the way people share their Christmas greetings. They now send e-cards instead of writing cards. While the cards have changed, the feelings of the greetings are the same.
