My First English Teacher

　　Dear friends! Do you still remember your first English teacher? You may say:” Yes.” Everyone has his teachers, in my mind, I’ll never forget her---my first English teacher Ms. Li. Without her, I wouldn’t be standing here. She is a young and lovely lady with beautiful eyes. Her voice sounds sweet and she speaks English very well. That was the first impression she left on us when she first gave us an English lesson.
In her class, she taught us carefully and patiently. she has a strange way of making her class lively and interesting. She always made opportunities for us to speak English. She gave us many beautiful pictures to talk on them, played games with us and told us many interesting stories. She made us learn from games. We learned English with great fun. After class she helped the students who had trouble in learning English.
Little by little, I had interest in English, but English was a new subject to me, I had many difficulties in learning it well. I often felt very confused. Even though I wanted to give up learning English. It was Ms. Li who helped me to find ways to overcome my difficulties. She helped me to practice speaking English everyday. She always encouraged me whenever I lost heart. She helped me to have confidence in myself. She gave me what I needed, courage, confidence, good ways to learn

English and opportunities to speak English in class. So I was grateful for her. Maybe I can’t meet her again. The only thing I can give her is my best wishes. I wish my dear teacher happiness, good health and good luck. And I also want to say to her: Thank you, Ms. Li. I love you!

Please Think A Minute

Hello! Every one. My name is XuJiaWei, from Class 3 Grade 7.
Please think a minute! I heard a funny true story about this guy who goes to the gym to exercise and work out each week. He takes 20 minutes to change his clothes. Then he walks around the gym talking with different people.
After that, he reads the newspaper. Finally, he does a few stretches and 5 minutes of exercises. Then he takes a hot steam bath before going home. So in the whole 2 hours he’s at the gym, he only spends 5 minutes exercising! One day, someone heard this man saying:“I don’t understand it. I go the the gym almost everyday, but I never seem to lose weight. But every body at the gym knows why, because they see this guy there doing everything except the main thing exercise!
You see, it’s important that we keep the main thing. And if you want to be successful. In your job, business, or managing your family, or your studies, whatever we do, we must get the main thing done. Instead of wasting our time and energy doing things that aren’t important. Because it is easy to get side-tracked doing other things that might be easier or more fun to do.
Just think a minute…

Hello, everyone! my name is Lu Yi .I am 13 years old. I am in Class4 Grade7. I am a top student in my class. I like all my subjects, but I like English best. Now, I’ll begin. My topie is:
What success means to me?
Once upon a time, an old rich woman left all her property to the person who could answer her question correctly. Her question was “what is the most important thing for a person who wants to succeed?” To my surprise, the answer was not money, not power, not even opportunity, but “ambition”.
Why is ambition so important? A person without ambition is like a near-sighted lion. All the things in the distance appear blurred. No matter how strong it is, it can’t go far.
　　A lion lives to rule the whole plain. A person must prove that “I am a king here”, at least you are the king of yourself.
　　Nowadays, the world is very competitive. Even if you get to the top of your own field, there might be still someone better than you. So we have to ask ourselves: what is the proof of success? I believe it is doing something for this world.
　　Remember: As a successful person, in addition to ambition, the other key you must hold is love. When you look back at history, you’ll find you were standing on the shoulders of the giants. You have enjoyed what they had left you. So we should live to work for the improvement of the world. From president to citizen, we should all take part in building a new WWW for which I have my own explanation ----it is“of the world, by the world, for the world”. Only as a member of the global village, can you feel you are really successful.

Making our earth more beautiful

We have only one earth. But now,the environment becomes worse and worse. As you know,there's no enough clean water for people. So many of them lose their lives because of water. In a lot of countries, people have to cut trees for living. So there's nothing to keep water from running away. Also we have polluted the land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more floods and droughts . It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We can plant

trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our parents to do so. We can't throw any litter onto the ground and we should collect them for recycling.
If we take good care of our earth today,it will be more beautiful tomorrow

Our Beautiful World

The world in which we live is a very beautiful world. About seven-tenths of the earth is water while three-tenths is land.
Water is “life food” of our earth.. It runs through mountains and valleys. It forms lakes and seas.
At the mouths of the rivers,fresh water joins the salt water of the sea. Here at the mouth of a river, there is very important plant and animal life.
What a beautiful day: The sun is shining and the sky is so blue. The land, oceans,mountains and rivers, plants and animals…everything looks bright and gay.
The sun gives us light, keeps us warm and makes things grow.
Sometimes,white clouds are like ships sailing across the sky.
Sometimes, the dark clouds bring us rain or snow. Sometimes, after the rain, you can see a very beautiful rainbow across the sky.
At night, we can seee thousands of stars and sometimes, the big round moon. The dark sky dotted with bright stars is like a picture! There is so much to see in our beautiful world.

The Importance of Time

Good morning (afternoon),everyone. I’m QinJin from Class1, Grade7. I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is “Time”.I’m going to talk about the importance of time in English.
Someone says,“Time is money.”But I think time is even more important than money. Why?
Because when money is spent,we can get it back.However,when time is gone,it’ll never return.That is why we mustn’t waste time.
It goes without saying that is time is usually limited.Even a second is very important.We should make full use of our time to do something useful.
But it’s a pity that there are a lot of people who do not know the importance of time .They spend their limited time smoking,drinking and playing.They do not know that wasting time means wasting part of their own lives.
In a world,we should save the time,we shouldn’t leave today’s work for tomorrow.
Remember we have no time to lose. We must cherish it.

What can I do for Beijing Olympic Games?

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Li Xin, from Class 8 Grade 1. Today, my topic is, “What can I do for Beijing Olympic Games?”
I am looking forward to the day’s coming--- August eighth 2008, the day Beijing Olympic Games will be open, the day sports families gather in Beijing, and the day all the Chinese feel proud.
As a little host, I really want to be a volunteer. However, I am too young, but I can still do something for it.
Firstly, as a Chinese, I will welcome every friend from every part of the world. My smile will show my friendship, and the foreign friends are sure to know Beijing better from the smile on my face.
Next, I will study English harder. During the Olympic Games, I can communicate with the foreign friends in English and serve for them, such as to be an interpreter, to show them the way, and let them love Beijing more from my kind help.
Thirdly, I will learn more knowledge about Beijing and the Olympic Games. In this way, I can

 My name is Sun Yifan. I’m from Class 9 Grade 7 .
I love English. English language is now used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. Learning English makes me confident and brings me great pleasure.
    When I was seven, my mother ask me to have English lessons . At there, I played games and sang English songs with other children . Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons.
    On the weekend, I often go to the English corner. By talking with others there, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English.
    　I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington Monument, because the president Washington is my idol. Of course, I want to go to London too . If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy.
    　I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. I\'ll introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Anshan.
    　I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well.

Life

Boys and girls , Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “Life”. I hope you will like it.
Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me.When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, an integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.
Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.
How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

Two Heads Are Better Than One

Hello, everyone! I am Chai Yun from Class 11, Grade 7. Today I am going to tell you a story called “Two heads are better than one”. I am sure you can learn something from it. One day, an elephant met a monkey. “Look, how big and strong I am!” the elephant said. “I can break a tree, can you break a tree?” “Look, how quickly I can run and climb!”said the monkey.“Can you climb a tree?”
The elephant was very proud because he was so strong, and the monkey was also proud because he was so quick. But which is better, to be strong or to be quick? They didn’t know.
“The rabbit will tell us. Let’s go to her .”said the monkey. And they went to the rabbit and said.“Tell us what you think about it. Which is better, to be strong or to be quick?” The rabbit said to them, “Do what I tell you, and then you will see which is better. Do you see that big apple tree across the river? Go and pick some apples for me.”So the elephant and the monkey went to the river. The river was so deep and the monkey was afraid to swim.
“I can carry you ,” said the elephant. “I’m big and strong so I’m not afraid to swim.” The monkey sat down the elephant’s back, and they swam to the bank. Elephant tried to pick apples from it, but the apples were too high, so he can’t reach them.
“I can climb up the tree.”said the monkey. He climbed up the tree and threw some apples to the ground. The elephant picked them up. Then they gave some apples to the rabbit. “Now tell us.”they said.“Which is better, to be strong or to be quick?”
“How can I tell you which is better?”answered the rabbit.“You, elephant, you, monkey, you couldn’t get the apples without anyone. Everybody has his own good points. But two heads are better than one.”

My dream

Good morning, dear teachers and close friends. It’s my honor to stand here and share my dreams with you today. Before my speech, please allow me to introduce myself to you. My name’s ChenFanjing, I’m from Class 12, Grade7. You know , I have lots of dreams that have gone along with time, my dreams always change in different times. I once wanted to be a policeman or a soldier, but now, I really want to be an artist. I believe I can realize it.
At the beginning, I tell myself to realize my dream no matter how hard it is, everyone knows there is nothing difficult if you insist it
If I become an artist, I’ll use my brush to paint this beautiful world, I want to paint the blue sky, white cloud, green mountains and many other beautiful things. Of course, I also hope everyone will buy my pictures, so that I can make a lot of money. Then I will build the biggest school where all the poor children can go to school like others.
